  Just bought a Brightland home late last month and the process went really well. Desmond the construction manager in Katy TX was detailed oriented honest and explained everything clearly with solid homeowner advice. Steve in sales also communicated well and kept everything moving smoothly. Like with any new build it is always good to do your own walk through so anything small the contractors might have overlooked can be taken care of before closing. Based on my experience I would recommend Brightland to anyone looking for a home.

  Sales team is strong, however the superintendent (james b.) who prepares your house for closing won't prepare your house for move-in. Lots of empty promises, ignored tasks, and worst of all he requested we give him "5" stars on the closing survey and promised to do the work that was never completed. The house was delivered with construction dirt everywhere (no cleaning crew), unfinished paint, broken toilets, unfinished exterior service, etc. Buyer beware!

  Terrible experience. Sold a spec home right out from under us while we were literally outside “talking about it.” The sales manager is IMPOSSIBLE to deal with and is TERRIBLE to try and negotiate with (for anything). Their houses have drainage/runoff issues (go and see for yourself) & they will lie to you and say that no other builders do gutters. That is false. If that’s how they treat their potential buyers, can you imagine what a nightmare building with them from the ground up will be? We couldn’t. In the long run, we are glad we dodged a bullet by getting screwed over by this company. We will never work with this company again, and will tell everyone we know what a terrible experience we had with them. I have read several other terrible reviews that support our sentiments...Do your research & make sure you (or your realtor) get all of the negotiations in writing (via email, not text) if you decide to buy from them. Brightland Homes is definitely not a customer-centric company in any way shape or form, and there are 24 other builders in Sunterra who will treat you & your family like they deserve to be treated (kindly & like human beings that matter), and who’d love to have your business, and will work to earn it. Dealing with Brightland Homes is like dealing with a used car salesman when comparing our experience with multiple other builders in the neighborhood that we visited (Chesmar, Castlerock, Empire, Ashton Woods, etc). Try those builders out before you decide to battle with Brightland. Otherwise, buyer beware.
