If you want to be sold something, this is the place to call. If you want honesty and competency, this is NOT the company to work with. And when they take your money and leave you in a worse place than when you started, their Customer Service will tell you "that's not how it works" when you request to speak to a manager. I will make sure everyone I know hears this story.

My service person was great. He found more problems with the shower valve I didn't know I had which was a leak behind the wall. Now I need a whole new valve. The problem I have is the cost in replacing the valve. They want 1700 dollars for the job and that doesn't even repair the sheetrock. The valve and trim is 200 at home depot which means the labor is 1500 with easy access. Maybe two hours of work. I have started pricing a little and the average cost is about 6-700 labor and part.

My original appointment was between 12 and 2 pm on November 22. I was called around 3 to be told they were running late. Finally showed up around 5. 1st guy did his inspection, then had to call someone else out to "jet blas" my main line. He then had to send a tech out to do the actual work. After he cleaned the line and unclogged it, he ran his camera to find that I had a crack in the main line under the foundation. He set me up with another appointment for 3 days later, to have someone else come back out to give me a quote on how much it would be to replace the main line. The quote was for $19,549.93. I attempted over the next week and a half to get a hold of the guy that came out to ask questions. I left 3 messages and was given time frames that he would return my phone call, I never received the a return call. I called to talk to a supervisor, I was told that I needed to talk to the guy that came to my house first. I informed them that I had tried to call 3 times, the lady I talked to could see it in her notes. She promised he would call that day. Yep it has been well over a month and I never got a return call. So today, Jan 2nd, I got a letter in the mail from John Moore "I want to personally thank you for choosing John Moore for your repair and for trusting us with your home. We hope our team took excellent care of you throughout the entire process and that your problems were expertly and quickly solved." 1 - they did not take "excellent care" of my home. 2 - there was not anything expertly or quickly solved. I NEVER heard back from them. Please do not use John Moore, find someone locally owned to go through.

I was originally told that all that was required to repair the toilet was to change the flange at a cost of $800. When the plumber came to actually fix it. He stated he did not know how to fix it because the pipe was angled and not centered. He stepped out and then came with 2 new options. One, tunnel underneath the house at a cost of approximately $9,000. Two, breaking tile and concrete from above costing $4,500. I consulted 2 other plumbers and was told it was not necessary. The plumber I selected repaired it for $350. All he did was obtain the correct flange to center the toilet without tunneling or breaking tile.

Do not fall for the old homey commercials. I have used these people off and on for a number of years when I needed something done relatively quickly (my mistake and laziness). However, they are the absolute king of the upsale. For instance, had them come out in the spring for the a/c "tune up", which we elected to pay slightly more for the winter furnace "tune up". The summer visit ended up with their suggestion that we need media filter cabinet because the standard filters that were installed in a new "smart home" were not adequate. This was all for the "reasonable" price of $6K or thereabouts. I immediately called 2 different providers that came to the independent conclusions that there was no need and the system was operating just fine. Fast forward to this week. Just remember this is a furnace tune up. No mention or work on the furnace that the technician told me about - only that I needed to clean the ducts, and do some major re-work on the a/c system that would cost $12K. My house was a new build in late 2018. It is relatively expensive home that was done quite well. Please just do NOT fall for the nonsense. These people are dishonest. If you need something small and quick - fine. But, get ready for the laundry list of other things you NEED to do. STAY AWAY!
