  As first-time homebuyers, we were initially so excited to build with Chesmar. We fell in love with the ability to customize our home and truly make it our own. Unfortunately, after the process started, things began to fall apart. We started with an amazing New Home Specialist, but they were moved to another location. We were then assigned a second specialist and had to re-explain all of our selections and design choices just to get them up to speed only for them to leave the company about a month later. We were then offered a third New Home Specialist who, frankly, was lazy, unhelpful, and provided little to no support during a very stressful process. The sole reason we did not walk away from our contract was our builder, Hayden. Hayden was absolutely incredible, communicative, dependable, and genuinely cared about the quality of our home. He built us the home of our dreams and consistently went above and beyond. Without Hayden, we would not have stayed with Chesmar. Unfortunately, Chesmar as a company missed the mark for us multiple times due to poor management and communication. The final and most frustrating issue was being tied to their mortgage company up until just a few weeks before closing. Instead of correcting a major visual construction error, we were told to go find another lender to lower our rate rather than fixing the actual problem, adding unnecessary stress so close to closing. Overall, our experience with Chesmar was disappointing. The only reason we can say we love our home today is because of Hayden. I would only recommend this builder if you are able to build with him specifically. P.S. DO NOT add beams if you do a fireplace in the Barron model. I have included a picture of what it will look like and Chesmar refused to compensate or fix this issue for us.

  We started the process with Chesmar in January and moved into our new home in July. We have been very satisfied with the process. The communication was excellent. Dana our, new home specialist, was so kind and gracious with us as we made our decisions and then changed them. She went above and beyond to help us with our selection. The quality of the home and attention to detail has far exceeded our expectations! On our finale walk through Preston, the construction manager, was great. He talked through any concerns we had with us and was prompt to get the minor details taken care of. We did have an issue with our dryer tripping the breaker. He responded promptly to our text. He then reached out to his electrician who told us how to fix it, it was actually an issue with the wiring of our dry and not the breaker. 100% would build with Chesmar again.

  My journey with Chesmar has been difficult. I was told this was an honest company. Sadly, I have had a lot of problems along the way, from sales numbers changing, finance depositing my earnest money into someone else's account and providing me the wrong closing location, to my yard caving in due to construction next door and now being told to solve my own problem with the lawncare company, hired to do the " one year free lawn care" as a purchase perk by Chesmar, as a few of my biggest issues. The home is okay quality since moving in 2 months ago. I need my stove worked on and my dryer kept setting off the breaker. Plus, I get a lot of spam with my personal information and specific financial information sent to me. I've purchased a new build before, and I know this is not an easy process. This really was much harder due to the issues I have listed and some still not resolved. I feel now that I have moved in, I am no longer their concern. I wish I had known how this journey was to go, I would have gone with a different builder.
