Our builder uses Oakline and we thought it was a great idea to be able to make all our choices / designing in one place, at one time. We've built from scratch before and it is a lot of work if you have to go to several places. The actual experience however, left a lot to be desired. Tara was our consultant and was not very helpful. When I stated that I wanted a brown granite she basically said there weren't any. (WHAT...? Dozens, if not hundreds of brown hued granites exist, and there are many that are not tier 2,3 4...) She then said there was one in the next price level (one?) I was willing to pay more for what I want, but wasn't thrilled with the one selection. This set the stage for the rest of the visit... almost everything I had in mind for our semi custom home became a minor battle. They didn't have a brick we liked unless we upgraded, the tile wasn't quite right but that was the only one close to what I wanted, the doorknob selections weren't good (we're hoping to retire in this home so we want levers not knobs)... I'm not quite sure what was going on here. Upselling to make more commissions? Home builder didn't have enough allowances? All I know is that when you're building a new home and you're willing to pay you should get what you want not have to compromise for what that supplier carries. Tara was just not customer service oriented. I'm sure she could have made a commission and found me something I like, but her attitude was basically 'This is what we have, I'm not going to search for something else, or work with your builder, whatever... this is it' My home builder did find me a granite I love, lever style door knobs, etc. As for Oakline, maybe they are good if you're just looking for flooring... maybe their other sales people are customer oriented...?

Please take my advice on this...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They do not and will not stand behind their work. They installed shower tile for us in a multi-million dollar project. Shortly after their ridiculously short warranty had expired, one of the showers began to leak. After much cost, it was determined that the shower pan liner, which should last for decades without issues, had been installed incorrectly. To their credit, they did come out and install a new liner and tile (which we purchased ourselves), but they refused to cover any of the associated costs such as drywall damage, plumbing costs, cleaning, shower door removal and re-installation which totaled almost $3,000.00. I just hope that their other work on this project holds up, otherwise we'll be out many more thousands of dollars. They may do fine on flooring, but when it comes to something as complicated and important as a shower, do yourself a favor and find another company to do your tile work! I only gave them 1 star because it will not let me give zero.

Our home builder (Texas Heritage Custom Homes) referred us to Mike and Oakline floors to make selections for our new home. When we went to the showroom everyone was super friendly, and helpful. They never tried to persuade us to upgrade or spend more than we had budgeted, and even made a couple of great suggestions that look incredible! Another nice detail was that they had plenty to choose from at our “standard” budget level, unlike a previous new home experience where just about everything was an upgrade! The installers were even very courteous at our job site. There were guys working with a radio on (and it really wasn’t even very loud)- when we walked in to look aroun they very quickly turned it down so we could talk with the builder. Recently when a family member needed some new flooring done we took them to see Mike again! Same great service and same great value! Oakline seems like a really awesome company, they were sure awesome for us!
