Contacted Omar Salazar and his team in regards to the debris left underneath my yard which includes over spill of concrete, large rocks, LAYERS of trash, PVC and unfortunately, rusted rebar in which my toddler stepped on, resulting in a visit to the ER, giving a toddler a tetanus shot was the worst experience as a father that I had to witness. I informed Omar that the irrigation was faulty and the original installation company was NOT willing to help as I was 3 days outside of living at my home for 1 year, the company isn't even a irrigation company, they are a SOD company. I paid for the fix of the irrigation myself and because of this Omar and "his boss" agreed that the company I hired to fix the terribly installed irrigation should be the ones coming back to remove the debris from the yard that resulted in injury to my toddler. I asked Omar specifically, as he put direct blame to his boss" if he agreed to that solution, which obviously makes no sense, his reply was "I am not in a position to answer that". Terrible mistake on Omar Salazar, Craig Blaisure and Justin for this terrible decision that resulted in a injury to a little girl due to negligence of their building team. Actions are to follow (10/10/2025)
Buyer Beware: Starlight Homes Disappoints
We discovered black mold in the attic due to broken shingles flagged during the initial inspection—never repaired despite a moisture warranty ticket. That ticket still shows “reported” status, but no action has been taken, and it’s been months. I even reached out to warranty at Starlight, and she advised that she didn’t know anything about it.
Worse, they had to hire a structural engineer to assess broken trusses that Starlight left in place. The quality of wood is so poor, some of it looks ready to crumble. This house continues to prove how rushed and poorly built it is.
Starlight promised to fix inspection items before closing, but most were ignored. Missing silicone between bricks, unsealed exterior fixtures, and bubbling porch concrete were all denied under warranty. Their response? A blanket disclaimer absolving them of responsibility for thermal and moisture protection.
Communication was great—until we signed.
Our A/C failed within a week. Despite being labeled an “emergency,” it took over a week to fix—in July—with a six-month-old in the house. They promised a new air filter before closing, left the wrong one on our porch, and never followed up.
The bathroom mirror has a visible gap, which they refuse to fix. Appliances are low quality—our washing machine leaked for a month due to a botched install. They sent a drywall tech instead of a someone for the baseboards and flooring.
The house was filthy at move-in. Deep scratches on sliding doors, sawdust in cabinets, and peeling vinyl on cabinet doors. Corners are cracking, walls splitting, and doorknobs falling off. Warranty contractors rush through jobs and after they leave you noticed they didnt action half of the items called out.
I chose Starlight because of their parent company, Ashton Woods. Big mistake. These homes are rushed, poorly built, and backed by empty promises. Save yourself the stress—go with a builder who stands behind their work.

We’re had a great experience with Scott moody, Craig kleinhammer, and Omar Salazar as we started our process to buy our first house and still appreciate the help that we received from them today
