Just moved into our new home last week, loving it! Our Sales Rep. Demi was simply the best throughout the entire process, and Tommy, the building foreman/manager is second to none. This can be a very trying process but thanks to Demi and Tommy, it went very smoothly. Now that we're in the house, it feels solid and well made. We used a home inspector throughout the build, (one inspection pre-slab pour, one pre-drywall, and one just before our final walk thru just before closing), and based on their observations, they made the comment to us that we have a good builder, that they're doing things right. That was very comforting to us and having lived in the house now for just over a week, we can feel that quality.

From the very beginning, working with Brightland Homes was an incredible experience. My best friend built his home here in 2024 and couldn’t stop raving about the neighborhood and the team at Brightland, which initially drew us in. I first connected with Arnold, who has since retired, and was then introduced to Demi. She guided us through the process after we signed the contract, and working with her and Tommy, who built our home, was truly a pleasure. Both were extremely communicative and responsive—every question or concern we had was quickly addressed. If they didn’t have the answer, they made sure to find it. Throughout the build, Demi kept us updated with photos, especially since we were living in California and expecting our newborn, which made traveling difficult. She always delivered on our requests. Tommy’s knowledge of Brightland’s home products was also incredibly helpful. Anytime we had questions about what could or couldn’t be done, he explained everything clearly and often went the extra mile to check with his team for alternatives. Some of our appointments were done over FaceTime due to the distance, but despite being so far away, we always felt confident and cared for throughout the process. The home turned out amazing. During our final walk-through, a few minor items were flagged, and they were all fixed before we closed. Even after closing, Demi and Tommy stayed in touch to make sure we felt settled and supported in our new space. We’re so grateful for their hard work and would highly recommend Brightland Homes to anyone looking to build in a beautiful and welcoming community.

We recently purchased a home in March. We are first time home buyers and worked with Demi throughout the process. She was quick to respond to questions and very informative. Tommy, our builder was very thorough and met the deadlines through our closing timeline. It was a great experience working with both of them, would highly recommend.

From the beginning, constant fighting with this builder to simply do what most would consider ethically correct. Any possible shortcut will be taken with Brightland and they’ll say whatever it takes to avoid any additional costs. In my walkthrough, there were about 50 items missed that I would have been stuck with had I not caught. Interesting that this was their approach versus the builder flagging it before I even got there. Even after marking it with tape, I went back and some of the tape was removed and the damage was not fixed- requiring me to mark it a second time. Builder lied and said the cleaner must have removed the tape. At my one year inspection, the builder tried to tell me the water pressure was not a problem and that I should just not add a pressure regulator- despite my inspector flagging this- twice. Tried to sell it as a negative if I add a pressure valve. The plumber laughed at that and immediately said Brightland just didn’t want to pay and that it could have done damage to my home long term. Once again, Brightland will do anything to cut corners and avoid paying anything extra- even when they are clearly liable. Now, fixing my own nail pops because apparently Brightland doesn’t cover that in their warranty lol (even though almost every builder does).

Poor workmanship and lackluster fixes. Update 6/25/2025: Follow up now that I am out of warranty period. Yard has been continuous issues. The people they sent to fix the bad drainage didn't resolve the issue at all. Half the sprinkler heads were so low that they got buried under the grass requiring extensions. Valve boxes also completely buried. Yard was also an uneven mess and I have been gradually trying to raise up low spots. Concrete is full of holes that opened up from dirt in the mix. One room in the house was not properly vented and overheats in the summer. Update 6/20/2023: Raised to 2 star since the builder contacted me to resolve the issue with the floor. Shame the process had so much pushback. Currently in the process of fixing the drainage issue. Note for future buyers: photograph every wall and floor on the day of your closing. You never know what your eyes glance over that may have been missed like in my case. Be extra thorough on inspecting any homes bought here. After closing, I found the flooring had water damage and wall tile with a decent chunk chipped off. Contract states they do not cover any damages after closing. Bathroom countertop had a gouge they filled with epoxy but were too lazy to smooth off or remove air bubbles, so it's now a bulge with rough dimples. Side flashing was bare, so they used calking to glue a piece of metal on and then crumpled another piece around the corner to cover it up. The lot has poor drainage and sits as a swamp on the sides. Confirmed with my neighbor(same builder) that his house had the same drainage issues. The kitchen sink faucet line was wrapped around the drain pipe so that the cord could not be pulled. As an extra bonus, their response to having dirty paint in the garage was to use a power washer and cause moisture to penetrate the drywall. Their solution was to paint over everything which just resulted in peeling paint due to moisture in the walls.
