  After getting estimates from several different flooring/carpeting companies, I chose Carter Floors. It was a great experience. They're super knowledgeable and very patient as you weigh which kind of carpeting is right. When it came to installation, they were on time and did exactly as they promised. All my expectations were met. I will use them again when I replace the hardwoods in our home.

  Overall, we didn't end up using Carter. For starters, the prices were higher on the exact same flooring we were seeing elsewhere. We asked if they would match, and they said yes, but the quote still came back several hundred dollars higher, and they added a 2-3% fee for paying by card. But since they were local, we still wanted to use them and asked if we could swing by on Saturday to pay (their website says Sat by appt), but we were told no. In the end, by the following Monday, when they were next open, we had found a much better deal elsewhere, and we were left with the feeling that they must get so much business that they feel they don't have to try hard or put forth much effort. On the plus side, they have a nice showroom and let you take samples to match existing flooring or fixtures. But to get my business, especially if I'm paying thousands of $, I need better service.
