Christian Morrison was great. Thorough, knowledgeable and patient enough to share and show me what was going on with my system and how to keep it performing as it should.

I’d like to take a moment to recognize Christian Morris, a service technician with American Water, for the outstanding job he did servicing our HVAC units. Christian was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely thorough in his work. He took the time to explain what he was doing, answered questions clearly, and made sure everything was operating properly before he left. It was obvious he takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about doing the job right. It’s refreshing to work with a technician who combines technical expertise with courtesy and attention to detail. We truly appreciate Christian’s professionalism and the quality of service he provided, and American Water is fortunate to have him representing their company. Highly recommended.

American Water is one of my favorite local companies. I originally purchased a Kinetico water softener from Matt-David in Jan 1986. American Water took over for them at some point. Bottom line, two Kinetico water softener units in my former home lasted a combined total of 38 1/2 years. So, when I recently purchased another home after selling my first home (leaving the still working softener unit with the house) and then renting for 18 months in the interim, I contacted AW and purchased a new water softener and a reverse osmosis system with installation for my new home. Daniel and Johnny were my installers and did an excellent job. All of the American Water employees that I've dealt with are very helpful, responsive and qualified. I highly recommend them.

Frequently Asked Questions About American Water - Dripping Springs

What Is The Difference Between Soft And Hard Water?

Hard water is water that has not been treated. It contains certain minerals like calcium and magnesium. Soft water, on the other hand, is water that does not contain any minerals other than sodium. Soft water may be naturally occurring, such as rainwater, or may result from treating hard water with a filtration system to remove excess minerals.

How Do I Know If My Water Has Been Contaminated?

Water must be officially tested for specific minerals and contaminants in order to determine if the water has been contaminated. However, certain warning signs can signal contaminants may be present and can help determine if your water needs to be tested or treated. These warning signs differ based on which contaminant is present in your water. For example, if your water tastes metallic, it may have certain metals in it, such as iron, copper or zinc. Other potential warning signs include an earthy taste to your water, cloudy or murky water or the presence of rust stains in your bathroom, which may all be indicative of water contaminants.
