- AMAngel MartinezJul 2, 20241.0I called and asked to get an estimate on new units. The person who answered the phone said estimates are free but service calls are $99. I said, I just want an estimate to replace the whole thing. The downstairs unit is still working and the upstairs is half running, I don't need a service call, I just want an estimate. Tech arrived and did a good job going over what needs to be done and then as he was done measuring and checking things out. He said that his lead from the company wanted him to still charge a service call. They just backed out of their promise of a free estimate. No diagnostics or service call was provided. I said ok, if you'll charge me then please run the actual diagnostic and give me an estimate on the repairs needed for the upstairs unit that's blowing very slowly. He checked it and said it needs a blower motor replacement. And he said it's going to be $197, not the $99 originally quoted for a service call. I paid him and that was it. I don't really know why they can't keep their word but if they can't for something as simple as an estimate, I don't want to know what things they'll back out of when more important stuff happens. For $197, they lost a 20k+ customer
