I really don't like to do this, but If I could give zero stars I would. Texas Heat and Air was assigned to us via American home shield in July of 2024 when our AC failed. It took until October for them to install the new unit, first red flag. By July 2025 the compressor on the unit had failed. Upon filing a claim, we were told to turn off the system and not touch anything until assessment, a directive we followed as we have an additional unit on the house that works properly. An alternate vendor was assigned and on assessment told us they would not touch the unit due to negligent installation, leaving us back in American Home Shields hands and only Texas Heat and Air to deal with.... It took until September for someone to get to us where they confirmed the compressor needed replacement. At no point during this appointment did anyone say anything to us or note anything in our account about filters or coils outside on the unit. From September 18th until January 28th 2026, we neither heard from them nor were able to get anyone to answer the phone. When we finally did, we were informed that they had attempted to contact us and after several attempts had cancelled the appointment. We have two emails, and three phone numbers on our account, none of which have record of outreach and none of which have issue being contacted when American Home shield needs payment for something. Curious When they show up to make their claim assessment, the unit has now been sitting in its state for nearly 6 months. Timothy proceeds to speak down to us about maintenance on the unit and negligence for lack of maintenance. Perhaps referring to the maintenance/repairs that Texas Heat and Air was supposed to be providing us that we are somehow now responsible for? I hate to write a poor review of a local company, but we have spent over $15k in the last year on this HVAC system and Texas Heat and Air has been a nightmare to deal with. I would say terrible communication, but it was zero. Service and installation were negligent to the point that we can't get another vendor to touch the system and when they did come out for service it was 6 months late, putting the unit and us in jeopardy of having our claim denied, which it was. If you have an open option / out of pocket, trust the reviews and go with one of the trusted vendors in the area. If you are dealing with a warranty company and they assign you Texas Heat and Air, I would recommend you exercise your right to request another vendor and save yourself from a similar experience.

This company is unprofessional. They schedule an appointment for the next day. I took the day off of work to be there. Then they sent a text message at 4:15pm to tell me they would not coming the next day and would be coming 4 days later. When i told them that would not work and that I had taken the day off, the owner called me. When I complained about them breaking a commitment the owner started yelling at me. Then he cancelled the service with AMS. If AMS books them for you, call them and ask it to be re-assigned.

I would give them zero stars I would. We were assigned this company by AHS and after the first time they sent their tech out he told us that we had a dead fan in our unit. He said he would try to come back the next day to replace the fan. Three days later he finally returns to replace the fan and then tells us that the actually issue to our unit was damage to the wiring that he claims was caused by a power surge. Well guess what AHS doesn’t cover under their warranty policy? Damage due to issues like a power surge. There was no evidence that an external power surge caused the damage and when asked by my insurance agent (who had to spend 2 weeks calling this company before they could get in touch with the tech) asked for evidence of how a power surge caused the damage could not provide definitive evidence. I believe this company said whatever they needed to say in order to cover the back of AHS. They were inefficient and dishonest and I don’t recommend them at all.
