  I had the Capitol Design team remodel my kitchen with Bridgewood cabinets in a custom Sherwin Williams color. Joe suggested a contrasting color for the island, plate rack and floating shelves in cherry. I especially love the floating shelves and plate rack design which allow me to display my antique dishware. He helped me pick out appliances in a mixture of black and paneled fronts for the Fisher and Paykel refrigerator and Cove dishwasher. I wanted bird murals that I found online, and his team installed the murals in the middle of a matching white field tile which look fabulous over the stovetop and side counter. The quartz countertops in a calacatta marble blended perfectly with the two cabinet colors. The custom brass hood added a beautiful focal point and provided a powerful exhaust. He also installed custom knobs I had found that matched the bird murals and custom color. Along with the kitchen, they installed a new Pella sliding door, easy to clean walnut, engineered floors and a Tiffany light over the island and kitchen table. Every idea I had was supported and supplemented with more suggestions to help complement my vision. I highly recommend Capitol Design!

  Joe is absolutely fantastic! He gave me loads of information over email before even meeting us! When he did come over to our house to discuss specifics and design ideas, he had our entire kitchen redone in under a month! I can't recommend him or his workers highly enough. We will definitely be hiring him to redo our bathroom sometime in the future!

  Capitol Design designed this beautiful total kitchen remodel for a high-end residence. Joe Currie, Owner, is a professional and has been awarded many awards for his high-quality plan and design services. Joe is very creative with designs, ideas....with multiple details. Joe has many years of experience and expertise not only with kitchen and bathroom designs.....as well as great experience in designing residential plans. Joe uses high-grade appliances and beautiful cabinetry. Joe is on time.....and on budget to this homeowner as well as each of his customers. Joe is very attentive to the homeowner's ideas and respective lifestyles......Joe works very well with subcontractors. Joe's total redesign of this kitchen .....from the beautiful granite counters....beautiful cabinetry....and other high-end details resulted in a very functional and spacious kitchen - dining area for entertaining guests! Capitol Design has enhanced each of my residential remodels.....( I have been a high-end custom home builder in Austin for 40 years )....Each of the discriminating homeowners have been truly pleased with the team partnership of Bill Foster Builders and Capitol Design ! ~~ Bill Foster

  I never met Joe Currie before we hired him but I figured he must have a really big head because all the photos I saw of his work were gorgeous. Well, now that our kitchen/dining/living room remodel is complete I still don’t know if Joe has a big head because I have yet to meet him in person. What I do know now — after he helped us create a gorgeous space of our own — is that he richly deserves any and all accolades bestowed upon him… and whatever sized ego that might result. Our project goals seemed unattainable. We had a love/hate relationship with the modest, 60’s ranch house we had bought and for the life of us we couldn’t figure out how to fix it. When our contractor suggested we work with a designer 1000 miles away I was skeptical. Could we really do everything that needed to be done via phone and email? How could someone who had never set foot in our house get a good feel for the space? Many of the projects in Joe’s portfolio seemed more elaborate than what we wanted (or could afford) and I wondered if he would push us in directions we weren’t prepared to go. Those concerns were short lived, however, as the Joe I got to know and who got to know us (maybe better than he would have liked!) was warm, gracious, and perfectly willing to let me steer our course. It was a circuitous path, to be sure, as I am not one to make even the smallest decision without changing my mind several times. Having Joe as our “virtual guide” took a great deal of pressure off my husband who, by the way, was thrilled to let “the expert” deal with his indecisive wife! And Joe was incredibly patient and resilient throughout our “long distance relationship.” His virtual renderings really helped me “see” what I otherwise couldn’t imagine. He finessed every good idea I had into something better. When I had questions, he had answers. When I didn’t like his first answer, he’d whip up a new, illustrated solution to address my concern in the blink of an eye. When I was at my wit’s end, he revived my spirits with his own special brand of wit and humor. The final result was a true collaborative effort. We no longer have a dysfunctional relationship with our house and we credit Joe (and our contractor) for ably facilitating this physical and emotional transformation. It’s not the house we bought, it’s not Joe-the-Designer’s house, it’s OUR house, and we love it!

  We have had the pleasure to become recently acquainted with Joe Currie. Our family hired him to layout and design our 38th Street project. Joe is the consummate professional. He has communicated very well with us and has respected our time and wishes concerning the critical initial phase of this project. Joe's designs are very classy and unique. Because of his experience in the field, he knows when to assert himself on a design aspect and when to relent to our desires. We have also enjoyed the benefits of the technology he uses to produce amazing renderings to see if we like the ideas that are being suggested.
