After many good-faith attempts to resolve this issue directly, we have no choice but to leave this review.
We intentionally avoided posting publicly because we understand how damaging reviews can be for a business. We even sent a detailed email to this business in February outlining our concerns in hopes of reaching a resolution privately. Unfortunately, after months of back and forth with no resolution, we feel this is our only option.
We first discovered Patio Enclosures at the Troubador Festival in Celina and scheduled a consultation shortly after. The sales representative was professional, kind, and thorough. We signed a contract in November, understanding there would be a lead time of about six weeks.
At the end of December, installation was scheduled for January 5th, but on the day of installation, we were notified of a delay and told it would be pushed out another 3–4 weeks. Installation was eventually completed in mid-February.
From there, the experience became increasingly confusing and frustrating.
We believed we had completed the financing process through the link provided. However, we later learned the original link had expired and had not fully processed. After completing a new link provided by Patio Enclosures, and providing screenshots confirming everything was submitted, we were repeatedly contacted by the operations manager stating they had not received funding—yet no one could clearly explain why.
On March 3rd, after another call with the operations manager (and confirmation from our sales rep), we were told everything appeared resolved.
It was not.
At the end of March, while reviewing our bank account, we discovered that Patio Enclosures had charged our credit card for the full amount of the project that was supposed to be financed by Upgrade per our contract—without our authorization.
After multiple conversations and a three-way call with Upgrade, we uncovered the root issue: the financing had been processed incorrectly as a personal loan, with funds sent directly to us instead of to the company. This explains why they had not received payment.
However, instead of communicating with us directly to resolve the issue, Patio Enclosures charged our credit card for the full amount (that was supposed to be financed through Upgrade) without authorization. This is completely unacceptable.
The operations manager acknowledged this was a serious mistake and told us a supervisor would follow up that day, even if there was not a clear resolution yet. That was two days ago, and we have still not heard from anyone.
As a result, we have disputed the charge with our bank and informed Patio Enclosures today that once the unauthorized charge is reversed, we are willing to properly resolve the financing as originally agreed and stated in the contract.
To be clear: the product itself is great. The retractable screen and installation quality met our expectations.
But the business operations, communication, and handling of payment were extremely poor. This experience has been stressful, time-consuming, and unacceptable.
Based on this experience, we would not recommend Patio Enclosures to anyone, and that's unfortunate considering we live in a large community-based planned community.
