My heater stopped working on Thursday (Oct 23) evening. I left a voicemail and text message on Friday morning. I was told it would be Monday before someone could come, but there was a cancellation, so Ismael & Juan arrived at my house at 9:35am that same day. Ismael determined it was the inducer motor and spent @10-15min on his phone, trying to locate one in town. Doug came out & brought me 2 portable space heaters to use until an inducer motor could be obtained, since it wouldn't be here until Tuesday (Oct 28). They were all gone by 10:20. I called the office on Tues and again on Weds to check on the status. On Thursday (Oct 30), Juan arrived at 4:40pm, removed cover, & waited for Ishmael to arrive to install inducer motor. Ishmael left and Juan finished up and was gone by 5:30pm.
Emma called me to get my email address to send me an invoice. I never got one by email. I received my only invoice on Dec 15 in the regular mail, marked PAST DUE, with charges for 2.5 hours (even though the guys spent a total of 1hr 35min at my house for the 2 days), no charge for parts (under warranty), plus overdue charges & a fee if paid by charge card. I called, talked to Emma, and she removed 15min of labor charges, plus both the card fee & late fee. I wrote a check and dropped it into General Air mailbox within an hour of our conversation.
In summary, I don't think I should've been charged for 2hrs 15min when the guys were only at my house for a total of 1hr 35min. Also, I should have gotten an invoice by email, or at least by regular mail, long before mid-December. In addition to having to tell Emma my email address twice, I also had to correct the spelling of my last name, even though I've been a customer for years.
I am surprised at the lack of integrity (times reported for labor) and attention to detail (email address & last name).
On a positive note, I am grateful that I received the canceled time slot on Oct 24 and that Doug brought out the space heaters for me to use while I waited 6 days for the part to be installed. Also, I appreciate Emma being so cordial over the phone every time I've called.
