  I had some issues with my heat pump not performing quite as well during the winter. So, I called Chaffee to come out and assess the unit due to the great reviews I saw on google. Earl came out and was very nice and knowledgeable. After checking the unit out, he said that the unit was low on refrigerant and likely had a leak in the condensing unit but wouldn't actually find the leak in the condensing unit unless I agreed to another $500 charge to do that. Then he insisted because of this and the unit being almost 10 years old that the entire unit be replaced. Keith then came out and put together quotes for me and was very accommodating to help me figure out what I wanted. But after seeing replacing the whole unit would cost around $15k (seems really high for a 2.5 ton split system), I decided to get a second opinion from Rocky Top HVAC. They came out and thoroughly checked the unit, spent way more time reviewing things than Chaffee did. They found a few minor things that needed replacing but, turns out there is not a leak, the unit was not low on refrigerant. There was an issue with the thermostat malfunctioning and not sending the correct signals to the unit. They got me a temporary fix until they can install a new thermostat. I'm sure Chaffee does great work from all the other reviews, but they seem more interested in just selling you a new unit instead of trying to fix what you have.

  Had a new heat pump installed at my residence on the advice of their sales rep as he stated parts to replace cooling coil are no longer available. Unit has been nothing but problems in regards to heating my house. Coils frozen up several times. Will not deliver heat in temps below 30. Called to get corrected and was told "it's a cold heat". Insulting. Now I am stuck with a $9,000.00 piece of crap that will need modification to provide heat. Even the emergency heat setting only provides "cold heat". I contacted them multiple times to attempt rectification, but they couldn't care any less.

  Jason came to our house to assist us with a heating issue where we didn’t have heat in part of the house. He was prompt, courteous, and he went out of his way to check everything to make sure we didn’t have to spend additional money, when he could have charged us for something that we didn’t need. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs quick and competent service.

  My family had a great experience with Chaffee. I called on a Sunday regarding a gas leak we discovered with our heating unit. They were able to respond within hours on a weekend at the last second. They worked closely with the gas company over the following days to resolve our issue. Everyone from the dispatcher to all of the technicians seemed more than capable at their jobs, and they were very knowledgeable and friendly. The company has great communication and kept us informed along the way. We highly recommend Chaffee for their exceptional service. I specifically want to acknowledge all of the technicians we encountered: David, Chris, Chad, Jason, and Richard. Thank you all!

  Chaffee HVAC and Electric saved the day for me. When wind chills dropped below zero my downstairs gas heat went out on a Sat when roads were iced over. On Sun morning Greg Duncan came out and found my 21 year old unit had catatrophically failed. Keith Bunch provided me 3 options and a negotiated rate and 10 year warranty. My new unit was installed and running by Mon afternoon. On Thurs my upstairs heat began to fail and Jason Bakius came out and explained to me with pictures the issues with my 20 year old split unit. Again Keith Bunch provided me with options and a negotiated rate and 10 year warranty….my unit was installed the next morning and I was able to meet my family in Nashville as planned. The installers and Mr. Bunch were professional and mindful of always wearing shoe covers and cleaning up after each install inside and outside. They answered my questions re installation of both smart thermostats and provided the documentation for my files regrading warranties etc. Chaffee’s quick response was a God send…no frozen pipes!!! Thank You Chaffee!!!
