I moved into a Brightland Home without doing my due diligence of looking at both the grading of our property and the local reputation of Brightland, so I do accept some blame. The strange grading of yards in our neighborhood should have been my first clue as so many homes have hills and slopes directed at the homes with a hopeful swale awaiting the water--which proved unable at my home for redirecting the flow coming down the hill. My next door neighbor even warned us before we moved in that we would need more grading done because of all the water coming down at the house. Then at the 11 month mark of our newly built home, we found a crawl space full of moisture and wood joists at 28-38 percent moisture! Returning with a brighter light to the crawl space, we found mushrooms and mold growing on these joists with the insulation all wet. When we filed the warranty claim, believing they would stand behind their work, however, they blamed me because I had built a retaining wall with french drains going far wide of the house to do a better job than the minimal swale Brightland had installed had been doing, a swale which Brightland had refused to improve upon when we asked. Their flat refusal and blaming of us at 11 months into our newly built home was so different from the positive experiences and responses my neighbors were having with Regent Homes, the other builder in our neighborhood. Brightland even had some higher up call us and read us the letter of the law according to Brightland--my only point to their caller was there is a big difference of the doing of the minimum a company could do to make a situation right for such an expensive home-or just coldly reading a printed sheet that says we will do nothing for you because we don't have to. As my more experienced neighbors say, "welcome to Brightland." NOTE: After posting this on Google review, all I got was the standard 'send us your email' that you see below and they have never contacted me! I am having to pay with no help at all from Brightland to get the crawl space taken care of.

Brightland homes builds a very poor home. We have only lived in our home at 7231 Richvale Dr in Fairview Tennessee for a month now. This is at Richvale Estates. Do not BUY from Brightland Homes. The customer service and warranty person Arthur is very unprofessional. We have had numerous issues. This includes DANGEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES. They will not stand behind their product! They refuse to even replace a window for the second time due to structural issues. Arthur finds any excuse to not fix, repair or replace any issues! Once again do not buy from Brightland homes in Richvale Estates in Fairview Tennessee. Thank you Brian Laleme at 7231 Richvale Drive

Why did you tear down the beautiful Forrest for your subdivision. It was one of the only places left in the area for wildlife and now it's gone.
