- SPsteve pJan 28, 20261.0In our experience, this location in Cookeville, is not interested in the end user experience. They are strictly focused on contractors, hence "Builders" in their name, so take them at their word. They are not interested in encountering a retail customer or the end user of the contractor sourced material. Our general contractor (GC) ordered way too many outside Diamond Kote "Rigidmount" wall fittings for the exterior and plumbing fixtures. There were 12 extra of these mounts, still in the OEM wrapping, left safely indoors, in OEM new condition. No one from our GC nor anyone from Builders 1st Source would help return them. This was over $1,000 of unneeded standard color, pre-painted material and perfectly reutnable. We had to go directly to the manufacturer Diamond Kote (good siding and helpful staff) and work backwards to get any response. It was like pulling teeth but we ended up being allowed a 50% refund. Only 50% because it took several months to get any traction with this effort. Builders 1st Source eventually participated, only because they were stuck in the middle, between the manufacturer and the GC to handle refund flow from Diamond Kote through Builders 1st Source, to the GC and then on to us. Avoid this outfit if at all possible.

If you are a trucker just plan on packing your lunch before you come because they are in no hurry to unload your cheap load of lumber off of your truck. They are too busy doing other tasks other than getting you back on the road so you can make some real money.

They were ALL so polite, I bought the wrong size lumber, brought it back to swap it out, no problem and they were so good about it. I WILL shop there again. Very helpful!!
