  Home Made Construction just finished replacing our deck and screened porch. Let me say that we are 100% satisfied with the entire project, process, and absolutely recommend Home Made Construction. The owner, Rick Hockenberry, has built a team that is extremely skilled, professional, friendly, and prompt every day. They communicate exceptionally well and kept us informed throughout the job, and Rick personally provided regular updates on the project's progress from beginning to end. Before we hired Home Made Construction, Rick gave us a list of references and encouraged us to call and speak to his previous customers before deciding whether to hire them or not. We took him up on that and spoke to many of the references Rick provided. Of all the references we spoke to, everyone single one of them not only recommended them, but told us they would have Rick Hockenberry and Home Made Construction back to do other projects. And in speaking with these folks, we found that a little more than half of those customers did in fact have Rick and his team back doing more work. The remaining folks rehired Rick’s Sub contractors for things like Roofing, Painting and Concrete. Throughout the process, if we had any questions or concerns (and there were not many), Rick and his team really listened and addressed every issue and question we had. If a correction was required, it was done immediately. We were never ignored or dismissed by anyone on the Home Made Construction Team. Rick made some great suggestions for several design changes that genuinely enhanced our project without any change in price or timing. Rick has decades of experience, and it really shows in the quality of materials used, the finished product and the strength and skill of his team. Watching the guys at Home Made Construction work is the closest thing to choreography I have ever seen in a construction crew. No one is idle. Everyone knows what to do, when to do and how to do. If someone finished their task, they went and helped someone else. And we really appreciated how they respected our property. Every night they cleaned up extremely well. Tools and equipment were set in specific places and covered, never in the way and organized for the next day. They picked up all the trash and building materials, swept and blew off all the areas they worked in. Rick’s subcontractors were also all very capable and timely. They show up on time, and they get their jobs done. We are also 100% satisfied with the quality of their work. Now that our project is complete, we feel that what Rick Hockenberry and his team created for us is better than any other company who quoted our project. Home Made Construction isn’t the cheapest, nor are they the most expensive. Honestly, they fell right in the middle price wise. But what they delivered was well more than any of their competitors would have delivered based on their individual quotes. And the new deck and screened porch look like they’ve always been part of the house, seamless! So, if you are looking for a new composite deck and or screened porch, look no further than Home Made Construction. Rick Hockenberry and Home Made Construction will build you something that is absolutely a cut above the rest.

  Home Made Construction did a great job with our screened in porch. Rick was able to articulate our vision for the project to be part of the house and not just an addition. His team was then able to execute at a high level focused on quality. They were meticulous with their daily clean up of the job site. I would not hesitate to reccomend their service.

  We are very pleased with the results of our new screened in deck. We wanted to completely change our old deck into a screened in living space for our family. Rick sketched out the deck layout for us during the consultation and was able to complete the entire project ahead of the original lead time. I love the vaulted ceiling and the added value it gives to our home.
