I contracted RSW to replace my deck, upgrade my sunroom windows and exterior siding, replace the deck stairs, and replace my kitchen windows.
Overall, quality of the work on the deck was good. There were a few issues and skipped steps (they left one of the banding boards with carpenter bee holes all through it, despite reaffirming multiple times that all the banding would be replaced). The screened in portion of the deck was done well, with exception of installing the screen door the wrong way (the lock is on the outside!). The door was supposed to be replaced the correct way, but they never returned to do the job despite multiple attempts on my part.
The deck railing and stairs railing posts got scratched up during install in multiple places, which is frustrating to pay for pre-damaged construction. They replaced 1 of the damaged railings on the deck, but never replaced the multiple scratched stairs posts they said they would. Additionally, they left a big gap between the stairs and house - I had to probe and confirm that this is not code-compliant, which they agreed and then finished that area with the appropriate railing.
The sunroom was of more variable quality, and the fit and finish of the wood trim, the excess glue/window sealant, and truly amateur paint job was generally unacceptable. They broke 2 of the 6 new windows on install (they did replace them, of course). The exterior trim job on one of the narrow tall windows was piece-mealed and looks unprofessional (see pic), and the paint streaks look awful. On top of that, when they painted, they got paint spatter all over the new windows, and on my new house siding! Do not let this company paint on your property. I cannot emphasize enough that they are not qualified to paint.
The kitchen window replacement (3 windows) was problematic since 2 windows had decent sized scratches on them, and one of these had a ~1/2" chip in the top glass. There is no way they did not see that chip, but installed it anyway. Additionally, one of the windows opens but is not secure it its track; something was clearly defective in the track when you open it. The clip for one of the windows broke my first time using it. These were installed Sept 2025, and Joey committed to replacing them. However, he kept dodging times and dates, missing deadlines. Eventually I gave a hard deadline 2/20/26 before I sought out remedies to get my funds back for the kitchen windows. I have retrieved those funds, thankfully.
Joey also prefers to call you when there is a problem. However, this can lead to you having little evidence or a paper trail when you need to seek legal remedies. In TN, it is a 1-party consent state, so feel free to record calls, or require him to contact you via email or text message so you have strong documentation.
Lastly, they damaged my driveway with the dumpster. Usually some boards are placed where the dumpster goes, but they did not do that, leaving 2 large scratches in my driveway.
Overall, I would avoid this contractor, and go with someone more qualified and consistent.
