Jacob Goddard performed a routine customer maintenance inspection where it was determined there might be a leak needing Freon top up. Upon return visit a minor issue was discovered and the repair was done. During both visits Jason was on time, courteous, explained everything clearly and answered all questions. I would recommend Jason and Blanton & Sons for your heating and plumbing needs.

After seeing their trucks at a neighbor's and seeing so many positive reviews, Blanton's was the first company I called to get a quote on replacing the HVAC unit at a property we own. When I made the appointment I asked that they call or text before the technician arrives so I can meet them there. The appointment was between 11:00 and 2:00. A very nice lady called me around 10:00 a.m. and asked if it would be okay to move it to 3:00-5:00. That was fine with me and I asked again to be sure they would let me know before the technician got there. I received a text at 2:15 that he was on his way. It was earlier than planned, but I dropped what I was doing and went to meet them. An hour and a half later and no technician or call. I called the office and they said he should be there soon. I waiting another 15 minutes and then left. Six minutes later the technician calls to say he's there. One hour and 51 minutes later. I took off work to do this. My time is as valuable as theirs. Extremely disappointing.

Buyer beware. I called for a simple gas line hook up for an outdoor grill. The tech was great but he quoted me $600 for a 5 minute job.....add the correct coupler, install and check for leaks. He said this was the price in the system, so I called the manager and asked about the pricing. He said it is what it is, this is standard pricing for an appliance gas line hook up, terrible customer service. I still had to pay the $90 show up fee and was left without a working grill. I am not paying this kind of pricing and to a company that gave me that kind of response on price.

Blanton & Son’s follow through on their promises, unlike other plumbing companies. I had a gas leak and called many plumber’s who advertised emergency service. Thanks to their dispatcher Carol who went above and beyond. My service plumbers arrived in a timely fashion. Wesley Frierson and Cody Egolf worked quickly and efficiently to identify the location of the leak. They acted in a professional manner and assured me they could fix the problem. Unfortunately it involved cutting into a wall. They provided me with pictures and documentation. I would highly recommend Blanton & Sons.

Now that I’ve had a couple months to calm down, fix the issue, and attempt to get a reply from someone in management, I wanted to share my experience.
I had a Flo device removed from my garage on 8/5/25 due to a mechanical failure that was common for my model. The pipe replacement maybe took 10 minutes, so fast that I even joked with the tech that I hoped everything was connected correctly. Less than three months later, I walked into my garage to find a leak that had spread through the wall, to the outside of my home, and down the driveway. Blanton was quick to send the same technician back out, but that’s where the good service stopped. The tech told me the leak was coming from a plastic elbow installed at the bottom of the pipe. When I asked why plastic was used on the bottom while metal was used on the top, he admitted plastic “wasn’t the best choice” and that it was failing due to my high water pressure. This “pressure” was already discussed during the original service call. Since then, I’ve had multiple companies check it, and all said it was not high enough to require a PRV. (Ironically, Blantons quote for a PRV was nearly double other companies.) When I asked why plastic was used despite knowing about the pressure “concern”, the technician couldn’t give an answer. The real answer seemed obvious: it was cheaper, faster and more flexible, since installing metal required a longer pipe (which was our new solution). At this point, the tech informed me he could stop the leak, but my warranty on the original work would no longer apply. When I asked why, considering the work and repair were both done by the same company, I was given no clear explanation.
After another quick 15-minute fix, he came inside and attempted to charge me an “after-hours fee.” You’re kidding, right? A fee for something that broke less than three months after installation and was “covered under warranty”, especially when the technician admitted the plastic elbow shouldn’t have been used? I refused to pay on the spot and asked for a manager to call me, since I believed their negligent installation should also cover the Sheetrock repair required from the leak. I never received a call. I have called at least five times since then. The company that came out afterward to inspect the work and make improvements to prevent this from happening again, told me that with modern plumbing, our sometimes slightly elevated pressure levels (which were monitored six times per day for a full week again after this event and only showed slight elevation twice) should never have caused this type of failure. Modern piping is rated for hundreds of PSI and you only see issues with internal fixture seals when water pressure is elevated. They confirmed it was simply the result of a poor installation and trying to fit too long of a pipe into a plastic elbow.
One final note to take back to you techs: when flushing hot water tanks, stop pouring bleach water into customers’ yards. This killed a large patch of grass on the side of my home in the middle of summer that also had to be replaced.
You can find much cheaper, higher quality and more honest work in Charleston elsewhere.
