  We had our annual maintenance check up for our HVAC system today. The technician, Colton Course, was excellent. He did a thorough check of our system, and went through an extensive checklist of items with us, explaining all his findings. He was also a very nice, polite person. We have been a One Hour customer for about three years now, since they installed a new heat pump system. Their service has been consistently excellent.

  Tech came out for service call. Said blower was likely the issue. Said should be about 2000. But wouldn't be able to tell if any other issues were there until. Said we may want to look into to a full unit replacement. Rep came out and quoted it would be between 14 and 17 grand. After all that I looked into things and gave a quick google. 80 dollar part is the issue. All I had to do is look at the control board for air handler and Google.

  I called One Hour heating and air on Oct. 25th 2025 to let them know I have a problem with my heat. I told them the thermostat was flickering when I moved the switch to heat. They sent over one of there tech to assess the problem. He looked at the thermostat and wet up into where the heating unit was above the garage. Charles Klingberg was his name. Well he said my unit was old and I needed a new thermostat and a 5kw heating kit to fix the problem. I asked for a price on each of the parts. Well he came back with 755.00 for a thermostat and 550.00 for the heat kit. I went on line to see how much a thermostat would cost if I went to get one, $147.00 at Lowes. I refused that part and went and got a thermostat myself. They said they could put it in for a cost. I agreed but they had to order the part. Thank goodness they had to order the part. Then I was made to believe that a new system would be the way to go. I asked for a salesman to come over to go over the cost of a new unit and what I would get for the price. His name was Mounir Ouinaksi. He convinced me I needed a new unit and I agreed. I signed the contract through a 3rd party lender GoodLeap for $12,000 that day Oct 27th. About an hour or so after Mo left I tried the thermostat again and my heat was working. I let it run for about an hour or so and it was working FINE! I called to cancel the contract which I had 3 days to do and was directed to a man who's name was Lee. He tried to get me to keep the contract but offered to drop it to $10,000, a $2000.00 reduction. I refused and said I wanted to cancel the contract. So I explained to Lee what my problem was in the beginning he suggested that it sounds like a loose low voltage wire. I asked him how can you tell me from 40 miles away behind a desk that this was my problem when your Tech said I needed a NEW SYSTEM! So that night Oct. 27th He sent over another tech who's name was Steve Galloway. He came over the same night at 6:15 to see what could be done. He fixed the problem in 10 minutes. A loose thermostat wire that was right there in front of his face. I don't understand how Charles missed it. Unless that was the plan all along.! I couldn't believe it. I called Goodleap the money lender to cancel my contract. It was canceled over the phone on a recorded line. I said GOOD I'm glad this is being recorded and I explained the same situation that I was almost taken for $12,000.00 by One Hour Heating and Air of Myrtle beach SC. Address 677 Robert M. Grissom Parkway, MB SC 29577. ALL I CAN SAY IS, BEWARE! They tried to take me for $12,000.00. Thank God I tried the thermostat one more time...GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE WHO USES THEM...BUYER BEWARE...ps. As of 12:47 pm Oct. 28-2025 I have not heard back from Lee!
