  A great family business. If you need flag poles or fencing services and products, J&R Fence is the place to go. Great people, fair pricing, excellent customer service and amazing work. Top notch people. I would give then 10 stars if this would let me.

  I had high hopes for J and R Fence. They were super personable on the phone. They came out to give me an estimate the following week after I called, and told me my fence would be completed in two weeks (that was the first of December). I paid my deposit so I could get my fence up so I would not have to walk my dogs every morning in the cold of winter. They only needed to build one side as my house that I had just purchased already had 3 sides built by this very company. I know we had a lot of rain, but it took almost 3 months to get finished. First, the lady at the office told me the guy who came out didn't do the scheduling. She did. They had to cut and order the posts, etc. That took time. Then, when they finally came to install the posts, the guy who did the quote wrote down the wrong type of pickets so there was a delay because they had to re-order new pickets. They didn't charge me to re-order the pickets (which I appreciate). When they finally installed the pickets, they only got a few up, and then didn't show up for the following few days. I called to see what the deal was, they were supposed to call the installer and get back to me, but no one called me back. The installer texted me the next day saying he was sick, and he would be back first thing in the morning to finish. He didn't show up until 11:00, and he sat in the car eating his breakfast for a while before beginning work. Also, there were gaps in the bottom on the fence which I get for opening and closing purposes, but I asked the installer to lower the posts or do something to help make it so my dogs couldn't get out since that was the whole purpose of the fence in the first place, and he wouldn't do anything to fix it. In the end, I had hoped they would compensate by lowering the price since these were their miscommunications and errors which they didn't. They did explain that the installer was having some personal issues, but that was after the fact. If they would have told me that during the process, I would have understood, but they didn't tell me anything. They just said sorry they dropped the ball. I apologize for the long review, and I usually don't even write these things, but I wanted to share my experience. The overall product looks great, but there was lack of communication and unwillingness to accommodate my needs. As a person who works in a customer service industry, I just felt like there was more that could be done than just a "sorry".
