- SOSusanty OlsonApr 22, 20263.0Understanding that everyone at every level has to make their cut... we kindly declined due to 60% markup on your prices for a new roof. Stormy was a great salesman and the young man whose name I cannot remember was nice too. The issue is the company was not dealing with people who were naive about installation or roof materials costs. At the end of the day the company lost out on a sale because the company was more interested pursuing the possibility of gauging the consumer for the max possible price instead of making a sale at a fair price. The company started at an estimated price of ~$ 30,0000 for a roof. After hours of discussions between us and Stormy; who also went back to speak to his manager Several times, Home Genius offered to do our home roof only...the shed roof was not included, for the overinflated cost of over $22,000. We offered our business to them for an all inclusive price of our home and shed roof to be completed for $15,000. We declined their offer as they wouldn't budge on the overinflated cost of $22,000 and have now received multiple quotes for under $13,000 for both roofs, higher quality shingle/materials and installation. My note to the consumer is this... BE WARNED AND DO YOUR RESEARCH! Do not be intimidated by a company that tries to have you sign a contract on the day they give you an estimate. If it is a good company with fair competitive pricing They will boldly stand as the company that can get you top quality products, installation and coverage on the work without trying to rush you into a decision. My husband and I are ecstatic that your company did not accept our offer and we saved that extra $2,000. Our comments by no means are intended to reflect poorly on the sales representatives. They were friendly, respectful, and new how to hustle a deal but unfortunately they were dealing with a couple that were informed and experienced. We appreciated their time and efforts.
