  We bought a 125-year-old house that still had knob and tube electrical and gas lines in the walls. The house needed significant work to upgrade to code, to remove all the knob and tube wiring, to increase the capacity of the house, and to move from wall-mounted lighting to ceiling lighting in most of the rooms. The old electrical panel was also in a place that was not up to code so the entire electrical supply box needed to be moved and upgraded. Chris, Hollis, and the team did a phenomenal job of rewiring the house and upgrading every room from the placement of the new plugs and switches to the quality of the work in installing new fixtures. New wires were bundled cleanly and nicely in the basement, the fuse box was well labeled. The communications from NEC team were fantastic and we highly recommend them.

  NEC provided a white-glove experience from start to finish, I highly recommend you entrust your Solar system to them. When I started searching for solar companies, there were many choices - but NEC immediately stood out with an impressive 4,000+ installations across RI and MA, which alone speaks highly of their reputation. Further, they are well-connected with all parties from the Energy Utility providers to the local town electrical inspectors. Their team of experts are professional, meticulous and down to earth folks, some of which in my case live in nearby neighborhoods. Finding they also had a local office in my town was an extra bonus and confirmation that I knew I would be in good hands. Even if you are not local to their offices or people, you will sense a neighborly treatment from day one. The project installation phases played out just as they had initially predicted, and were surprisingly smooth with no unexpected "gotchas" - a rarity these days. If you do choose to go with NEC, you are making a wise choice and I am confident they will earn your trust.

  Completely professional and highest quality installation of new 220V circuit on electrical panel, 220V line from basement to garage and installation of Level 2 EV charger. From the initial scheduling by Tracey, site visit by Jay, timely estimate, town permit, to the completed installation by electricians Ed and Miles, everything was handled perfectly, on schedule and on budget. The customer service was amazing, really nice people, not just competent and responsible. If you want it done right, Newport Electric & Solar is your contractor. Come to find out, my father has also engaged Newport Electric Construction (NEC) to complete many jobs over the years, with similar success and satisfaction. We could not be happier! Highly recommended!
