    I’ve been using Signature / Timothy Off for over a decade and recommend with no hesitation. It’s useful to have technicians who are familiar with the house and prior work done. I needed to have work done this week & the technician (Jacob) was able to assess and fix the situation efficiently because he’d been here before.

    Clueless organization. When our heat pump stopped producing heat in 20-degree weather we called them because we have a service contract with them (or so we thought). First, the CS rep couldn't find our account, said we weren't customers. When we finally got that straightened out, she said they couldn't send anyone until the next day. I said that was unacceptable, considering the conditions. Then she magically found a technician who could get to our house that night. The, tech, Kennis, was great. Checked everything, explained the problem, and said he'd put in an order for a needed part. He checked their records and noted that we did not have a service contract, which explained why no routine maintenance had been done for over a year. I said, "Can't be true -- we've had a service contract with you for seven years." He explained that the company changed its procedures and policies. They for years would send an annual notice to renew and pay for the contract. Then they stopped sending notices and just automatically canceled the customer. What? They expect the customer to keep track of when the contract has to be renewed? And they just cancel you without notice that they're doing so? Now we get to the actual repair, or lack of it. Kennis diagnosed the problem on a Tuesday night and said the part would be ordered ASAP and installed when it arrived. It's now Friday a.m.. Three days without heat in winter. Still no word about the part or when it will be installed. Yes, we're looking for a new HVAC company.

    Signature now invoices on a fixed price per job, rather than parts and labor. I was charged $350 to replace a 30 farad 370VAC capacitor for parts and labor total. It took approximately one hour to replace. This capacitor goes for between $10 and $20 on the web. They must think we’re too stupid to look this up. Wow!!

    We had our winter maintenance check performed today, and I want to clearly distinguish between the service provided by the technician and the experience with scheduling and communication from the office. Woody May, our technician, was excellent. He was personable, professional, and clearly competent. Once he arrived, the maintenance was completed thoroughly, and I was very satisfied with the quality of his work. Woody represents Signature very well, and I would be happy to have him service our system again. Unfortunately, the communication leading up to his arrival was very frustrating. Our appointment was originally confirmed for today between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM. We adjusted our workout schedule to ensure we would be available. Before 8:00 AM, we received a call narrowing the window to 9:30–11:30 AM. At 10:06 AM, we received a text saying Woody was on his way. By 11:30 AM, no one had arrived. When I called Signature to ask for an update, the representative could not tell me where the technician was or what was going on. Woody eventually called me at noon to explain that his truck had mechanical issues and that he would arrive shortly, which he did at 12:35 PM. He also mentioned that someone from the office should have contacted us earlier to explain the delay, which unfortunately did not happen. To be clear, I am very satisfied with Woody and his work. My dissatisfaction is entirely with the lack of proactive communication from dispatch. A simple call or text would have prevented a lot of unnecessary frustration.
