  Sadly, our experience with Chimney Scientist was disappointing from beginning to end. Over the course of 10 weeks, with multiple calls to a manager and two technician visits, we were continually assured that our Hearthstone wood-burning stove could be serviced. We paid $165 for the initial inspection in August 2025 and were told service would follow. Only after weeks of waiting were we informed that they could not service our 20-year-old stove -- something that would have been very helpful to know upfront before scheduling, paying, and waiting nearly two months. When I asked to speak with the president to share our experience, I was told he was not available and would not discuss the matter. While I was refunded the inspection fee, we are now back where we started, two months later, having to find another company on our own. A very frustrating and unnecessary waste of time.

  3 tries to get someone on the phone. I'm done. Their 'virtual assistant' is the most frustrating experience. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

  Can't say enough good things about their work. Nick, Josh, and Lynel were extremely professional. They arrived on time. Told us exactly what they were going to do. Showed us detailed pictures of the completed project. I recommend them highly.

  Outstanding Professional Service - Exceeded Every Expectation I recently had Chimney Scientists perform extensive restoration work on two large brick chimneys, including exterior repointing, flue relining, firebox repointing, and gas log replacement. Their professionalism was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. Communication & Scheduling: They always arrived exactly on time and sent text messages when the crew was en route, complete with a live GPS map and photos of the technicians coming to my property. The office staff was spectacular - consistently professional and returned calls promptly. Thorough Assessment: The initial inspection was incredibly comprehensive. They used a chimney camera for interior inspection, explaining everything on the video screen in real-time, then conducted an exterior drone inspection with detailed photos of areas needing attention. Professional Standards: The crew wore bright yellow safety vests, trucks were clearly branded, and they used drop cloths and shoe covers throughout the house. For the large lift truck work, they used protective matting across the yard. When unavoidable lawn depressions occurred despite protective boards, they returned with a landscaping crew to make complete repairs. Project Management: The job leader was highly communicative, the crew was professional, and their dedicated quality control manager made frequent site visits and maintained active communication throughout the project. Quality Work: They properly ground out all mortar joints (creating significant dust), used tarps to catch debris, and washed down the entire house afterward. The finished chimneys look better than new, and they waterproofed the entire exterior upon completion. Pricing: Their detailed estimates clearly identified issues with multiple repair options, and pricing was transparent and very competitive. Chimney Scientists went over the top to ensure I was completely satisfied with every aspect of the work and workmanship. I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them for any chimney work.
