  I have had SAE's with this outfit for the last few years. They made a contracted service check last month. No data or readings were made available on how the AC system checked out. Last week the AC compressor went bad. They told me the cost of a new compressor was about $100 MORE then replacing the whole AC unit. A quote for $4100 was given for a whole new AC unit.l found another quote for $1000 less.now Scatton's wants 300 bucks for making a diagnostic service call,that it was being discounted by $100 as per the SAE. Save your $ and for go any SAE. ..very deceptive practice .There is no Priority as an SAE customer except to Prioritize fees and inflate costs for you.

  Last year, during the contracted annual maintenance service for our air conditioning service, the technician noticed fluid under a valve in the attic and documented it in the company’s record to indicate it was noticed; however, no action was taken to troubleshoot what the fluid was, where it was coming from and what should be done to address it and no mention of it was made to us. We ran the air all last summer and a few times this spring on hotter days. One day last week, after turning the air on, the temperature in the house continued to go up and so after some time, we turned off the air and called Scatton’s. They sent a technician a day or so later who found that the unit was bone dry with zero coolant left in the system at all. He did a bubble test to find that the same valve that had fluid under it was leaking so he tightened it and told us they would monitor the pressure after some time to make sure there was no other leak elsewhere in the system. After the visit, my husband contacted the owner and questioned why more troubleshooting wasn’t done a year ago and was told they would work with us to adjust the price to be favorable to us if the issue was a loose valve that was willfully overlooked. A few days later, they came back out to confirm the pressure had held indicating the leak was indeed from the valve being loose. The repair cost over $1,400 and the owner gave us only about $200 in discounts resulting in a $1,200 bill to fix something that should have cost nothing given that we have a maintenance contract that would have included tightening a valve.

  We had four local contractors come out and give us proposals on a replacement furnace and AC unit which after 18 years finally needed to be replaced. Vince, or sales guy, stood out among all sales guys as being very honest and resourceful in providing a very cost-effective solution for our unique needs. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about their products and was able to answer the many technical questions I had. He was on time when he met me, was informative and Victoria promptly e-mailed his proposal to us. He consistently answered my followup e-mail questions quickly, and was easy to contact via phone. He also followed up with me after the install to make sure we were happy with everything. The installers Jay and Anthony also did a great job of installing the new system then showing me everything we needed to know about the new system. They were also on time, had a professional appearance, and were friendly. They are clearly detail oriented guys; all aspects of the install job were done very professionally including the plumbing, electrical, gas, main furnace and AC hardware, and cleanup once they were done. I highly recommend Scatton's Heating & Cooling, Inc!
