  Kitchen sink was blocked up and Zoom (bought out by Stellar Brands which is info potential customers should be aware of) said that much of the new kitchen would have to be dismantled and every company I contacted re that said the quartz countertop would likely not survive, nor would the floor. The house is on a slab and it looked to be an ex-pensive and very destructive process since no one, not even a professional pipe finding outfit, could tell where the pipe went. On the advice of Chatgpt, I hired a project manager and he came up with a plan to reroute the pipe and enlisted Ab-bey to do the work. Part of the kitchen did need to be dis-assembled but in a relatively minor way. Abbey laid new pipe under the cabinets, jackhammered the concrete floor from the corner of the kitchen, along the dining room wall and connected it to the powder room pipe, then recement-ed the area. The reason no one could find the pipe is because it is Or-angeburg, not iron. Orangeburg was produced during WWII when there was an iron shortage and it is basically made up of whatever was lying around at the time and any war years – 1948 – house like mine is likely to have used that so be advised, it is not good. The Abbey team was fantastic, especially Colin, a smart, creative and calming. The whole thing took about three days and cost around $6k.

  They are very good and prompt. Few times i needed their service at middle of the night. They came and comleted thae the repairs .

  Thought the nice and friendly guy that came out in February was fair and fixed my heating problem. Come to find out that was a front. Heat system went out again last week (December) and had the symptoms of the same problem they fixed (10 months prior, 6 of which was summer), so I called the emergency line and he said they would be out that same. After several calls he finally gave me a window of 4-7pm only to text me at 9pm saying that nobody was going to make it until Monday. He was totally aware of the fact that my tenants were without heat and instead of letting me know he couldn’t make it he mislead me the whole day and wanted them to go without heat for an entire weekend! Not even a call to apologize, a text, “can’t make it until Monday”. It was a blessing in disguise because I was able to get someone else out Sunday morning. After diagnosing the problem they told me that the entire control modular and entire pilot/ignition assembly that Abbey Plumbing replaced didn’t even need to be replaced. It was one part of the assembly that needed to be fixed. From his experience the assumption was that the technician “E. Frain” couldn’t figure out the issue so he just replaced everything. What a joke. Charged me over $400. Best part is when I voiced my frustration of being mislead the whole day he says “I don’t know what response you’re looking for we can’t make it until Monday” and “It sounds like now you’re blaming us for them to have a no heat because we were out there early in the year and you’re saying it’s the same problem so doesn’t sound like you’re interested in paying for anything either”. WOW Be careful and don’t fall for the nice guy routine.
