  So this is quite a story. When we moved into where we live now the glass in the door to our kitchen cabinet got shattered. I have waited 15 years to take care of this, because I thought it would be incredibly expensive.. The most difficult piece to replace would have been the beveled diamond in the center. The rest is just mirror and tape. After 15 years I made one single phone call to one company. Saltzer & Son in Harrisburg. They got me in right away around 2pm today. He actually informed me that this actually is not glass. It is a piece of mirror with a beveled diamond mirror in the center and some form of tape (I’m assuming posh tape) glued on in the middle. When I asked Mike how I could replace the center piece he stopped for a moment, then smiled, walked to the back and retrieved a piece I could use for the center. He said this would have been the hardest to replace and he had exactly one single one with that exact same size left. How cool is that and what a coincidence? Had I gotten this door fixed 15 years ago, I might not have had such luck. Then to top off my luck he sent me down to Weaver’s Glass. HE called them himself for me and told them I’m sending down a lady named Stephanie and she needs this and this kind of mirror. I asked what I owe him for the beveled mirror piece. He told me $5. I gave him $20 for his excellent service and advice, but he refused to take the tip. He gave me back my change, a sweet smile, and sent me on my way. I’m now down at Weavers Glass getting the mirror replaced. I might stop into Michael’s or Hobby Lobby with this door to find out what tape I need. I will have a little art project here the next few days. And Mike absolutely made my day. Instead of letting me hang, cause replacing mirrors isn’t really his job, he educated me on what it is, where I can get it, and then literally held my hand all the way to the end, even refusing an uppay. And all with a smile. Where do you find good and honest people like this these days? While I wasn’t there for actual stained glass, which is what I thought it was initially, he showed me some of his outstanding artwork. Please, don’t hesitate to give this gentleman your business. He deserves every bit of that and then some.

  The Saltzer's glasswork is nothing short of phenomenal! I would build a glass house just to have them decorate it 😂
