I rented a forklift for a project that had to be completed in 7 hours. The forklift wasn’t working properly, but I managed to figure out a way to finish the project within that window. It’s been a year since I’ve been requesting a reimbursement, and no one has been able to give me an answer to return my money. I also realized they have been charging me $12.80 every month for an entire year, and when I asked why, they don’t know what that charge is for. I’ve been bouncing around with the store and management, but none of them can give me clarity on this. DONT USE THIS COMPANY.

On Friday, 11/19, I reserved a lift online for 11/24. I entered all the required info, paid via credit card, and received a notice saying that additional processing is required, and, "In the event that the order cannot be completed as requested, someone from the United Rentals team will contact you as soon as possible". On Monday morning at about 10 AM on 11/22, I called to confirm everything was a go for Wednesday the 24th. I was then informed that they didn't have any lifts available for the 24th, (at least not the kind I had reserved). I couldn't help but wonder when they were planning on contacting me to let me know, and what would've happened had I not called to confirm. The good news is the CS rep was extremely accommodating and ended up making it happen, and the lift was delivered first thing Wednesday morning as scheduled. The only "bad news" is that the lift was extremely unresponsive, so much so that I'd press a control and have to wait 3-5 seconds before it actually performed the maneuver. There was also a noticeable lag when taking my hands off the controls vs. when the lift actually stopped. This is actually a pretty big deal when you're using a 60' articulating knuckle boom to get right next to a 4 million dollar home. I've rented lots of lifts over the past 30 years and had never experienced anything like it. I just chalked it up to the fact that the lift likely came directly from the last site in which it was rented, not allowing it to be serviced before being rented back out. Will I rent from them again? Yes, but I'll make darn sure that my reservation is confirmed with plenty of notice, and I'll also hope for a better performing lift as well.
