We called Portland Heating and Air Conditioning to get a bid. John got us on his schedule almost immediately. He came out and looked at our project and gave us a few proposals. He explained them to us thoroughly and we came to an agreement on one. John was delightful to work with and they got our new system up and running in no time. I would highly recommend this company. John did a great job from beginning to end.

Frequently Asked Questions About Portland Heating & Air Conditioning
Do you service the entire Portland metro area?
Yes. Portland Heat & AC provides heating and cooling services throughout Portland and the surrounding metro area, including Beaverton, Tigard, Gresham, Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, and nearby communities. If you’re unsure whether we service your location, give us a call, and we’ll be happy to confirm.
How often should I have my HVAC system serviced?
Most HVAC systems should be serviced at least once per year. In the Portland climate, we recommend: • Heating system maintenance in the fall • Cooling or heat pump maintenance in the spring. Routine maintenance helps prevent breakdowns, improves efficiency, and extends the life of your system.
Are heat pumps a good option for Portland homes?
Absolutely. Heat pumps are one of the most popular and efficient options for Portland homeowners. They provide both heating and cooling, perform well in our mild climate, and can significantly reduce energy costs compared to traditional systems.
Do you help with energy‑efficient upgrades and rebates?
Yes. We can help you choose energy-efficient HVAC systems that may qualify for local, state, or utility rebates and incentives. Our team stays informed on available programs and can guide you through options that fit your home and budget.
Do you offer free estimates for new systems?
Yes. We provide free estimates for HVAC system replacements and new installations. Our team will evaluate your home, explain your options, and provide upfront pricing, no surprises.
How long does an HVAC installation typically take?
Most residential HVAC installations can be completed in one day, depending on system type and home layout. More complex installations may take longer, and we’ll always communicate timelines clearly before starting.
Are ductless mini split systems a good option for Portland homes?
Yes. Ductless mini split systems are an excellent choice for many Portland homes, especially older houses, additions, garages, or homes without existing ductwork. Mini splits provide efficient heating and cooling, precise temperature control, and are well suited for the Pacific Northwest’s mild climate. They’re also highly energy efficient and can help reduce monthly utility costs.
