I'm retired, just getting by on my Social Security. I've been using & very grateful for McFarlane's Bark (MB) for year round 'disposal of my yard debris' for the past 20+ yrs. I appreciate and take advantage of their senior discount - especially in these increasingly Very difficult financial times. For as long as I can remember the prices and subsequent price hikes at MB Were more than reasonable - but now those days appear to be a thing of the past. MB no longer uses a scale but instead measures 'trailer size' to determine disposal cost(s) = the price Doubled (from $16 to $30) for a smaller than usual load! I understand raising the prices of the products they sell (mulch / bark / et al) but raising the prices of the 'main source' of their products (our yard debris) is Unconscionable! I'm not the only senior citizen who feels this way. For most of us: MB is the only way to affordably clean-up our properties, so now we have no recourse but to pay up and up and up and... Thanx?

Last year the price for yard waste drop off was reasonable. I paid $15 for an 8 ft pickup bed with senior discount. I went today with a new smaller 6 ft bed pickup and they now charge by volume. Today I paid $24 for a smaller load including the senior discount. I am going to look for some other green waste dropoff place unless they get their prices reduced closer to last year's. Not to happy about this place now.

So sad to see this place go downhill. I've been coming here multiple times a week for the last few years. Been excited to come here every time. Happy friendly people, fast and cheap. Bit out of the way for me but it's worth it. Now, now so much. For my little 4x8 trailer of yard debris, what used to cost $13 3 years ago for a overflowing amount of debris, now cost me $24 for below the rim. I was always the minimum amount. It went from $13 to $16 to $18. Now I guess $24 but more if it's overflowing. On top of cost, it takes unbearably long. First you wait in line to pay. And you now have to get out of your rig to go into their little store to pre-pay. Then wait some more to dump your load. While dumping your load there's giant loaders shooting around. It's hectic! When you finally swerve away it's been about an hour. I just went at 1030am on a Tuesday thinking it'd be in and out. Plus there's road construction happening at the entrance which makes you wait on the way in and out. So, too much waiting, too much cost raising, too chaotic. I think I'll find somewhere else for the time being.

I recently posted a negative review of the wait time at the yard and have been back twice since then and had no wait at all! The women running the place are great and have been extremely helpful in moving the line along. Much appreciated!! Its unfortunate that the local county/city code cops are making life difficult and as a result limiting the unloading spaces. I hope that changes soon.
