Will update in hopes that an agreement can be reached. Unfortunately, the business owner refused to address my concerns and stated that they’ve earned their money per our last phone call and has since ignored my emails. They’ve been completely dismissive of their exacerbating my health condition which was surprising as they specialize in aging in place and universal design.
The scope of work was unclear but I took this company at their word that they would do right by me and communicate with me throughout the process. Instead, I dealt with 2 weeks of a lead who would not communicate with me, use dust control or even close my door at the end of the day in winter time. Reached out to the project manager who hung up on me twice, tried to tell me that they didn’t need to paint (it was in our contract) and called me a passive aggressive liar, blamed their not informing me of their moving the swing placement on their employee who’s second language is English. I let them know that I had respiratory issues and finally put up my own plastic. Their owner ignored my calls for four days then during our in-person meeting stood by while his crew was rude to me before walking off the job. New crew came in, did not seal my ceiling ducts while sanding their poor texture job on my basement ceilings which got dust throughout my hvac system. I asked them via email to address the issue. Owner ignored my email, crew covered up the dirty vents with register my covers and left me to clean the vents after I was diagnosed with a sinus infection. There are little bits of texture all throughout my carpeting and white dust throughout my home. They did subcontract a new texture job which looks great. I am hoping that they did actually prime and let it dry long enough after the texture was sprayed. It was hard to get a clear answer on this. The project manager told me two days after the texture was done that they were going to prime, but then I talked with another employee who said that he already primed the same day their sub-contractor textured. I tried to confirm with the project manager and he said I should listen to the other employee.
The project manager also told me that the soffit their previous crew built is so crooked they cannot fix it. That lead normal does bathrooms, not drywall he said. Then he informed that I won’t notice it. I do notice it.
I have been very clear about my respiratory issues throughout the process. The dust was so bad it shut down my electronic air filter on my furnace, which they did clean one time. This did not address everything. Our contract states that they will clean up all construction debris.
This is a $22,000 job for sound dampening, ceiling abatement and replacement, painting, as well as installing the swing. The walls are not their project. Before and after photo of my cleaning the ductwork, the dust I’ve been cleaning, and the lopsided soffit.
Update: The light fixture they installed will not turn off. IYH did not check the light or wait for me to do a walk through before walking off the job a second time. Their response was that it was not in the contract. I sent a screenshot of the contract. They suggested that I have bad wiring or a bad light fixture. The light in that room worked prior to their arrival and the wiring was done by an electrician.

We had a hanging stairway light fixture bulb burn out. It was 20' high, and no way that we could reach with our short ladder. We had wondered for 20 years how we would ever be able to replace the bulb when it burned out! We also had a ceiling fan that we wanted to replace. Brett responded very quickly to our Angi request. He understood exactly what we needed and sent Dmitri, with a 12' ladder!, to do the job. Dmitri did a great job and was a pleasure to have in our home. We will definitely recommend In Your Home to our friends and neighbors.

Had In Your Home install several outdoor vent covers to prevent pest intrusion. Also had a couple outdoor exhaust vents replaced and a small repair made to our chimney. Dmitrii did a great job and asked if we would like our gutters cleaned while he was making the repairs. We have a lot of trees and we had not had the gutters cleaned this fall so it was so much needed and appreciated. We highly recommend In Your Home for handyman repairs in addition to the amazing remodels they do.

I cannot say enough good things about In Your Home Remodeling and, in particular, Skyler! As an Occupational Therapist with CAPS and ECHM training who specializes in accessibility and aging-in-place, I am very selective about the contractors I recommend - and this team truly stands out.
This is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) aware company that genuinely understands the needs and value of accessible design and remodeling.
Skyler demonstrated a clear understanding of the value of Occupational Therapy and was eager to collaborate around function, safety, and long-term usability.
He was incredibly professional, thoughtful, and thorough in developing a highly detailed scope of work and accessibility plan for one of my clients who was considering modifying her home for her aging father.
He listened carefully, respected her goals and concerns, and translated them into clear, practical recommendations that prioritized safety, accessibility, and long-term usability.
From my professional perspective, the level of communication, care, and craftsmanship that Skyler and In Your Home Remodeling provide is exceptional.
I highly recommend them to any family looking to make their home safer, more functional, and more supportive for aging or disabled loved ones.

We had “In Your Home” update our Primary Bathroom. It was original to the 1987 house, so it needed a lot of work. They did everything and it turned out amazing! We had help every step from design to fixing little things like light switches. You get a team of people but most of the work is done by one person. Our person, Dillon was outstanding. He checked with us at every step to make sure we were agreed about placement, orientation, and every other detail. Our design person, Kristen, helped us to consider things we wouldn’t have thought of on our own, helping us to stay safe in our home as we get older. It wasn’t the least expensive bid we got, but it was worth every penny. They have a handyman service as well as remodeling, and we plan on using them for several smaller projects in the near future.
