  I was lucky to chance upon JD Swallow when my furnace went on strike one bright winter day. Marc was at my home in no time at all. He proceeded to figure out possible causes by way of elimination, and even succeeded in explaining things to me so I understood. He proved professional, methodical, friendly and polite. I decided to commit to his company, and to become a member, all thanks to his work and service. I can warmly recommend JD Swallow.

  As new homeowners, we contacted Enercare to maintain our rental hot water tank where they then red tagged our furnace and hot water tank exhaust vents. Said they wouldn’t fix them unless we got a whole new system, trapping us into a whole new contract. We then contacted Francis Home Environment to come check it out and they pulled the same tactic - they wouldn’t touch the vents unless they replaced the whole system (~$6K). Finally and thankfully, we called JD Swallow after seeing their excellent reviews online. Kevin came by the next morning to asses the red tags. He was able to solve our issues quickly and easily, and removed the red tags, all for just the reasonable diagnostic fee. He was knowledgeable and very helpful. We are very thankful to have found an honest company and will be calling them back when it’s time to maintain our system again, and for any issues that may arise. Can’t recommend them enough!

  Excellent service. We recently had a heat pump + new furnace installed. Bastiaan was extremely knowledgeable and answered our questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. The installers were professional, prompt and completed all of the work in a single day. Given the recent cold snap we did not have the opportunity to use the heat pump, however when the temperature warmed up and we tried to use it, it did not start. The technician that arrived, Mark, was friendly and professional and diagnosed the issue quickly. We were not charged for this visit as we had the heat pump installed less than three weeks prior and had yet to use it. We will absolutely be considering JD Swallow for our future HVAC and plumbing needs. Well done!

  We've been on a maintenance contract with JD Swallow for a few years now as our furnace was quite old when we moved in and we wanted to make sure we were safe. I bumped up our annual inspection this year and last Friday at 9:30 am the inspector (Kevin) told us we had to 'condemn' the furnace because, for a couple of reasons, it had become unsafe for us to operate. Obviously this was a massive concern given the temperatures... Within an hour, they had a sales rep (Hayden) over to discuss options for a new furnace. He laid out our options clearly and we made a choice on what we wanted without any pressure. in the meantime he brought in some of his own space heaters for us to use... but turns out we didn't even need them because within an hour from our decision, they had a team of 3 guys (Joe, David, Chris) at our place taking out the old furnace and installing the new one. It was flat-out amazing service and to my complete surprise, they had the new unit installed and running by 4:30 pm. They had to upgrade a number of connections and also fixed a few other random bits and pieces that needed securing, etc. The installation guys were personable, professional, and even seemed to have fun working together, which is always a bonus. All-in-all it was a 10/10 experience and they kept us from having to struggle through a winter weekend in Ottawa without a furnace. Thanks to everyone on the team for getting it done - it's safe to say we'll be loyal customers for years to come. Cheers boys!

  Big Shout Out to JD Swallow and team for a great job replacing my furnace and AC last month after my annual inspection showed both units were done. I was very impressed by Bastiaan (Sales) who thoroughly explaining the various options and considerations, then repeated it all when my sister joined us and had her own questions. He returned during installation to make sure everything was proceeding well. And Chris, Joe and David (installers) did a great job with the installation of my new furnace and heat pump over two days, cleaned up erverything and answered all our new questions.
