  Text from. Herc Rental employee. The grinder is in the shop it just got returned today...will let you know when it's ready ... $1402 for the dump trailer and 736 for the roller (monthly ) It would have been totally okay if Herc didn't have the equipment or couldn't repair the equipment, but they shouldn't have rented it out when it was promised out, and they shouldn't make reservations of any kind they can not fulfill. I had two trailers out, it was alot for Herc to keep track of. I returned the equipment I rented because of the poor communication and follow through. Upon returning the equipment which I was told $700 per month I was billed a total of 2200 for 1month and 4 days. The supervisor at the store said that I shouldn't have been given that rate , a trailer was included. That's fair, however I rented it because that was what was offered. Perhaps Herc rentals should review the regulations with the consumer agency Canada ( competition bureau) regarding door to door sales and not providing services offered, agreements confirmed by text. If your employee wasn't authorized to make equipment rentals, he shouldn't have been showing up at work sites for sales or with the general manager. It's actually Overbilling what happened. It's not the sales reps fault their is a failure in internal communications at Herc Rentals. I told a customer I would grind her stump on numerous occasions because of what Her Rentals said. "It's available" . "It's coming from Kingston" " it was rented to someone else." . It's damaged...it's being fixed.... its available....it wasn't. Very polite staff. Terrible overall customer service. When I initially met with the general manager about the rental issues he said it was **** **** acknowledging the errors. Customer: July 2019 Sorry for the delayed communication. I have had no new information for you. I had not intended to return for a third time with a home Depot stump grinder. When I was last at your house with the stump grinder, I had said prior that I would return to grind the stump as soon as it was possible for me. I could have called and provided a heads up. You didn't provide notice that I could only work at your house on certain days, sorry for the excessive noise. Herc rentals provided bad information on numerous occasions. Resulting I left them a poor google review. They said that the advantage is they can always bring in equipment from Kingston and then they said there branches don't share all equipment after they said it was being repaired for the fourth time. They also said it was available next day as well as they were picking it up in Kingston and that they would let me know as soon as the service guys in Ottawa looked at it. I'm as frustrated as you are. The stump grinder was not the only agreed rented equipment with Herc Rentals. Likely they broke the stump grinder they have and didn't repair it because of the cost. It's an item that's not the most lucrative of rentals. There word doesn't mean anything. Actually the on site manager said that the employees shouldn't make guarantees or promises. (It's the reason that home Depot now only rents a cheaper grinder. The cost to repair). I will be there no later than this upcoming Monday, unless there is an event or reason that you don't want me to show up on a certain day. The inconvenience is not yours alone. I will call or email the day before.
