I came in to return a trimmer something very simple but the lack of basic courtesy really stood out. While I was waiting at the customer service counter, a lady and a gentleman looked at each other, and it was clear one was asking the other to help me. But neither of them acknowledged me. No “Good morning,” no “I’ll be with you in a moment,” nothing. Next thing I know, they hand me a receipt and say the return is done without even speaking a full sentence to me. In a customer-facing business, this is just not acceptable. It costs nothing to greet a customer or say, “Hi, I’ll help you in just a moment.” We are human beings we want communication, not silence. If one day robots take over customer service roles, it’s because we stopped acting like humans ourselves. Do better.
