I’m hoping service improves. I wanted to use Service Master as I had previously in another location and was very happy with their service. Several contractors assured me that they have a wonderful reputation. So far it has taken me a week and at least 3 phone calls to get someone out to do an estimate. In spite of giving a detailed explanation over the phone about the water issue the fellow arrived without the necessary equipment to gauge dampness. He had to go get the equipment and return to the house. I am hoping that the estimate is fair and that the efficiency of service improves in order to restore my faith in this company

My claim was started March 30th and my home is just getting back to normal from that time. The ice storm caused water to flood my basement and damage walls, furniture and carpet flooring. The emergency crew that came were very good and stayed until
Late that night to clean out what was wet. They made lists of my stuff that was damaged but a lot of things were missed.
Once that was completed, a representative came in April sometime to assess the damage and put an estimate together from what I was told . To this day I haven’t seen the estimate total and the restoration is now complete. For months I was told they didn’t have a contractor to fix my basement. Just recently they sent a company here. The guys were amazing. The owner himself (Jesse @Exclusive) was very helpful and explained the process in which he was going to complete the repairs and the timeline. His communication was excellent and kept me in the loop for all duration on the project. He even removed and disposed of damaged furniture that was left from the first crew. The flooring contractor (modern carpets) were also very good. He came in when Jesse was here and they both collaborated and got everything ready for me. The unfortunate downside to this was timing. It took very long and communication from service master was lacking with many emails and questions unanswered.
The very upside is their trades they used at my home. These guys were very knowledgeable and skilled and without them my home would still be in disarray. I thanks Jesse (exclusive) and Leanne(modern) for getting my basement back to where it was! Thank you.

A long but necessary review. I'm normally a 5-star reviewer with a long track record of great reviews on Google but this experience just blew my mind:
This company was recommended to us from our home insurance provider for water damage on the main and 2nd floors of our home, which is approx. 1000 sq ft. This happened in Feb 2021. Our contacts at this company have been the Owner, Will Moodie and his admin, Amy Miners. As of this week (Nov 30th 2021), Leslie Graham as well.
Feb 2021: - restoration crew broke an interior door and wall-mounted ceramic heater – scratching it and damaging the drywall that supported it (Will denied this damage). Asked for a remediation quote as well, not covered by insurance
April 1st, 2021 - took 1.5 mths for a quote and it was wrong. Wrong insulation recommended for our ceiling (as confirmed by the insulation pros). We sourced out our own spray foam installers and roofer instead. Revisions took until April 14th – still wrong. Work that insurance was covering was included in the remediation quote. They were only asked to replace the whole wood ceiling & trim on the 2nd floor by us – partially covered by insurance).
April 14th – work commenced.
We haven’t been able to live at home since mid-Feb. Staying with family to avoid costly hotel expenses.
April 29th – told work was complete. It wasn’t. Missing: a wall without drywall, trim missing in areas, trim not caulked anywhere (huge visible gaps), trim didn’t line up or match rest of the house, water stained trim not repainted, broken door not replaced (we fixed the heater ourselves at this point). Will said he’d come that weekend. He didn’t. No call, text or email to advise. Silence for 2 weeks.
May 13th – Will finally comes. I asked for a list of the work being done – never received a response. Silence again.
June 7th – emailed about the broken door never fixed. It was only then ordered.
June 29th – door installed – we only knew because the contractor sent a text to advise.
Other discrepancies we let slide b/c we wanted to be done with this company: paint-matched paint in our bedroom didn’t match at all; trim we paid for was used up and instead, wood ceiling was cut to look like trim (even though it was the wrong size/thickness and we were charged and insurance billed for the correct trim); no trim caulked to the wall.
Nov 3rd - email from Will asking for final balance payment. Thought this was already paid – asked for final invoices.
Nov 4th – Amy sends completely wrong invoices.
Nov 5th – one invoice and statement sent – still missing an invoice with the correct totals owing
Nov 28th – Leslie Graham calls (did not want to provide her full name, very rude) stating I had until the end of the week to make full payment or be sent to collections. I advised I still had no invoice confirming what was owing, nor did I know who this person calling me was (not giving out CC info to a random caller).
Both Amy and Leslie blamed me for the reason they waited 5mths to follow up on their final invoices that were never sent, saying I was paid directly from insurance (not a large payment – it went unnoticed as I didn’t have an outstanding bill to pay). They knew this from the beginning but failed to keep a proper record of their customer.
Nov 29th – finally both final invoices rec’d. I have until tomorrow to pay in full or face being sent to Collections.
Money is not the issue here. Payment has been made in full (despite the continuously rude tone from Amy both via phone and email). It's the utter lack of any sort of professionalism or customer service from this company has been terrible from day one and to top it off, not a single member of that team knows what the word "Accountability" means.
Buyer Beware Big Time!!
