My furnace & heat pump were installed by Don's Heating & Cooling. On the day of install there were no spare 30W breakers on my box to accomodate the heat pump, so I was told they'd send someone out to shuffle breakers around to fit it in. This took 8 weeks to complete. During that time:
- I received a sales pitch from the Aydin, insisting we needed to get a whole new breaker box (though after a conversation, he admitted a breaker shuffle could potentially work).
- A week after install, Andrew was sent to our house to "take pictures of serial numbers". This involved disassembling large portions of the furnace. He also took pictures of our hot water heater, which Don's had not done any work on. When asked why, I was told he was following instructions. (?)
- After 4 weeks, Electrician (Alex) came by and confirmed a remap of our current breakers would work, and parts would take "3 or 4 days".
- Next week, received a cold call from Nav B., inquiring why we haven't decided to upgrade to a new 200W breaker box. Sent an email with quotes and promised to call the next week to update on parts. Never called back.
- When the parts arrived after 3 weeks (on a Monday) nobody bothered calling me to arrange anything. I called to inquire about the status (that Friday), only to learn parts had arrived 4 days earlier.
- Sales rep calls to apologize for bad service. To make it up to me, I was told a box of furnace filters would be provided. The box contained one.
- $1000 rebate cheque for the heat pump purchase was promised from the start. When the cheque arrived, it was $915.
In short, they prioritised upsells over completing the job, and communication was awful. I don't know why I'd use them (or their affiliates) ever again.
EDIT- "(Owner)" has replied, asking me to call them to discuss these issues. Hey "(Owner)", you already have my number, if you want a conversation, call Me. If I tell you that your company suffers from poor communication, it's just more poor communication to shift the onus onto me to initiate a discussion with the completely anonymous You.
Edit #2 -
Bumped from 2 stars to 3, as they have made up the $85 difference between promised Vs delivered Heat Pump Rebate.
