Complaint Unreasonable Charge
I live in Tennessee, and I own a commercial property in Madill, OK. Upon noticing a water leak my tenant contacted A Better Plumbing, Inc. (Mr. Dolph) to locate and repair the water leak. Boy was that a mistake!
On October 16, 2025, the plumber removed a toilet, took out a vanity, and cut into the drywall (see pics) but never located or repaired the leak. His final recommendation was simply to "call the city or county for results" (see copy of bill).
For this incomplete and ineffective work, I was billed $2,600.
While I was out having dinner with my family in Tennessee, the plumber called and asked for my credit card number and wanted to be paid immediately. This was also on October 16. I should have told him to let me finish dinner and I would get back with him and settle up.
Regrettably, like an idiot, I paid the bill before seeing the results of his work.
This was a disappointing and expensive experience.
I'll chalk it up as a life lesson learned, but I would strongly caution others to never pay before confirming the work has been properly completed.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Mr. Dolph or A Better Plumbing, Inc.
POST SCRIPT: And you admit that it was verified that I did not have a leak anywhere by the city then I basically paid $2600 for some cut drywall and the removal of a vanity/sink and toilet. Per Mr. Dolph's request I did reach out to him last night and left him a voicemail to please return my call so that we may indeed resolve this issue. As of 11/6/25I have not heard back from him.
As for the money. I will miss it but i will survive without the $2600. And I know that I can lie down at night and sleep well knowing that I didn't wrong anyone. I was angry about the price paid for the "work" done and the mess made but am no longer. I have turned this over to the Lord and as a Christian have forgiven Mr. Dolph. But I won't forget.
Also, I asked myself "what is this situation trying to teach me?" And that is to always verify a job is done properly before paying for it. A hard lesson but one that I will remember until the day I die. I will post further updates as warranted.

I stand by my review. Nobody explained to me that I would be paying $2600 for removing a vanity, toilet and to cut some drywall, all to be left in the building and not removed by you. And I don't care that it "would have cost $2k to get the sound equipment out to locate the leak." I didn't pay you for "would haves" because you didn't. The fact is that I was billed for and paid for you to cut around 20'x3' of drywall, remove a small vanity/sink and a toilet. I would welcome a call from the owner to discuss this further. And there is nothing malicious about the truth.
