  I was referred to Zoom Drain by Transit and Flow for jetting and a camera inspection after a basement backup issue. The technician told me he could not get past 45 feet of line and suggested there was a collapsed pipe in my yard. I found it suspicious that the technician got on a call with his manager as well as the initial plumber from Transit and Flow about the quote to repair. I was verbally quoted a repair in the $6,000–$18,000 range. Before committing to a repair of that size, I obtained a second opinion. The second plumbing company cleared a blockage and provided video confirmation that there was no collapse or structural damage. Based on the major misdiagnosis, I requested a refund under their advertised 100% satisfaction guarantee. Communication was slow, and I was made to feel like the video proof I provided from the second company was insufficient (even though it was time stamped, dated, and I shared the invoice summary). I initially received only a partial refund. After multiple follow-ups and escalation to ownership, I was ultimately refunded in full. I’m sharing this so others (especially first time homeowners) understand the importance of getting a second opinion before approving major excavation or high-cost repairs. While the final outcome was a full refund, it required time and persistence to resolve.
