- TDTaylor DornApr 3, 20242.0BUY THE CARET, BUT DO NOT LET THEM INSTALL IT. My wife and I had finally completed our dream basement. It looked brand new with no blemishes at all. We needed some carpet installed and Church Street Floor Coverings was recommended to us because of their friendly and honest service. The couple at this store are incredible, I have no complaints about how everything was handled on the sales end. Frankly, it was a relief to find some people who were upfront and honest about their business. Additionally, they seem to have a lot of knowledge about the products that they were selling and we're able to make excellent recommendations for our new basement. My complaints come in with who they had install the carpet. Not only were there dings and dents all over my brand new basement, the carpet seemed to be installed incorrectly. There are gouges taken out of my brand new walls in my brand new trim. Additionally, there are a few areas where I feel that the carpet was not installed correctly. The stairs seem a little wonky, as it seems that the padding is not rolled over the front of the toe of the stair and it is noticeable every time I walk down the stairs. Overall, I wish we never went to the store. Even though these were the cheapest prices we had ever seen for carpet, we would have much rather have paid more money for a professional install. When I reached out to the shop owner about the mistakes, she was regretful and made sure to let us know she would reimburse the damages to the walls and the trim. So we charged her for the repairs, but you can still see the dings and dents even after the repairs because you can't make those mistakes go away. The shop owners were very professional and helpful throughout the whole process, but the people that they have installed the carpet I never want inside my home ever again. They came back twice to finish the carpet and both times there were new dents and dings all over the basement.
