- PPPeterNov 16, 20255.0I got a quote that was substantially better than two others. Mandy was very good the deal with. For some reason my computer did not like the Lowe's website for projects. (It could, of course, have been them that didn't like my computer.) She send me PDF and set up a time the same week. The technician arrived on time and went to work. I really got the impression he knew what he was doing. The drain on our heater was clogged. He emptied it by sucking the water out from the top. He quickly got the old out and the new in place. He adjusted the water lines and soldered on new fittings and modified the exhaust. Installed the expansion tank that are now required (at no extra cost). He was done in a little over 2 hours. I paid with my Lowe's card to get he 5%. He was a very pleasant person. I will recommend this company to anyone.

Five Star was honestly wonderful to work with, all the way from estimating various tank size and year combos to scheduling to install. Austin spent extra time educating me about tanks, maintenance, what caused my old heater to fail so I know what to look for (worn out expansion tank!) and plumbing in general. He left me feeling like I’d made a wise purchase and any future issues would be handled equally easily. Thank you for reminding me what good service looks like!

This time was a bit more complicated than the last couple (warranty swap) so I interfaced with the office staff (Savannah) a lot too. Savannah worked hard to make sure everything was copacetic between the manufacturer, the installer, and Lowes. Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly – I always have a good time talking with Robert! They earn their name every time and it's what keeps me coming back!
- ACAbby CragerNov 6, 20251.0You guys should've called me when you showed up or had questions. You guys cut off the original cover to the outside line. You went down the wrong drain to release the block. We've had this done a few times over the years and never touched the plumbing line that you cut. The new cover doesn't even fit!!! The old cover has been taken off and put back on with no issues!! It also screws on/off the opposite direction!! I have a real problem with you not confirming it's ok to do something drastic, before doing it!!!

I bought a water heater from Lowe's, and Five Star contacted me to arrange for installation. The next day, they contacted and estimated that the installation would cost $1700, or more accurately, $1689.75. They replied they don't charge by the hour when I inquired what their hourly rate is. I made the decision to return the water heater back to the retailer. I visited The Home Depot. I spent $1200 on a water heater with installation. The installation was completed that same day, and the installer cost me $625.
