- CSChristina StrubbeNov 5, 20254.0Four stars, because this was a rough process, but in the end a few folks at this business worked hard to make it right. Do it your-selfer building a deck. Came in to order material, with a materials list; computer imaging of the actual deck-to-be, and a few questions about railing systems. My advice, make sure you are talking to someone who works with the material you need. For me, I needed Timbertech. The fella who was there the day I came in, clearly is not a Timbertech guy. Or at the very least, needs more training. We ended up with a number of extra things, and missing half our railing system. The day the delivery was scheduled, I was working from home so I could show the driver where to place the material. Wasn't hard, driveway was empty. Just stack it off to one side. Instead, he drives through my yard, which had just been landscaped (new build house) and deposits the material in the grass. Material that was too heavy for me to move onto the driveway myself. He also leaves a stack of material on the opposite side of the driveway, in the grass -- which we later find out wasn't even ours, and they show up to collect unannounced. That was a whole separate issue. In the end, we fixed our own yard as nothing notably was done about that. But they did get the mis-ordered material exchanged for the needed items and refunded the appropriate amounts. This process took way more time than necessary but ended up okay.

I go to order the sheets and the guy is like we can’t do that until next week. I told him I just called. He said they are doing inventory. Mind you there is a sign next to the guy saying they are doing inventory the next day at Mentor 10-25. He said they are starting early. I told him I went and got a pickup after I called. He called someone and said they didn’t answer and it’s out of his hands. He then just walked away. I decided to wait awhile and watched people talking and guys walking around. I then just walked out with no one caring. I own a business and I would be embarrassed if my employees had that level of apathy towards customers. The lack of customer service tells me everything I need to know about Mentor Lumbar. I will never walk in there again and suggest you go to a different supplier.
