- JRJohn RigginsJan 28, 20261.0I hate leaving negative reviews because it might be an isolated problem. I had a hot water heater wouldn't stay lit. I scheduled an appointment with Apollo to have it diagnosed and hopefully repaired. They were quick to respond even in the cold weather. When the tech came into the house, he just looked...didn't touch the hot water heater, and proceeded to tell me I needed a new water heater. No testing, no meter, nothing. He didn't even pretend to check anything. Was it a lose wire? Bad thermocouple? Clogged pilot assembly? Don't know. Was it a $50.00 repair? Don't know. Just said new water heater. I asked him to leave because I felt that the only intention was to sell me a new water heater regardless of what the problem was with my old one. I did have ANOTHER company come out. They actually tested the components and found the gas control module was bad. Ultimately, I did have the water heater replaced. Had the Apollo tech at least touched the heater or spent a couple of minutes checking "something" to make me feel like he was here for something other than to sell me a new water heater, Apollo probably would have had the job.
