Well it's been a year since we had our roof and windows installed by HGE so this review is genuine. The roof installers didn't speak a word of English. They completed the job in one day but during their work they were very aggressive and cracked parts of our ceiling inside, HGE said they're not responsible and that, "it happens". They also without telling us ahead of time, took out ALL our gutter guards which I'm assuming was to install the drip edge and they damaged our gutters! HGE has it in the contract that they are not responsible for any damages. Finally, we made the biggest mistake of buying windows from them. We bought 10 windows. We found out later when they came to install that they subcontract for windows so we definitely overpaid by A LOT. Also they kept getting the measurements wrong and it took them 3 times to get it right which by then our order kept getting delayed and did HGE care? No. They just want your money, a lot of it, and don't care about you afterwards. We still a year later feel completely mistreated and taken advantage of by them. I understand mistakes happen but they have no integrity of making things right and for a company that can afford to rectify something simple but chooses not to speaks volumes.

After having a rep come quote a project, I told him I was having other people come to quote as well and I didn't want to sign up for anything right away. I never received an emailed quote, I've called their services twice to see if they have any quotes on file and they said they would take care of it - and I still don't have a written quote. It's been 2 weeks. It's a shame, because what I remember, their prices were decent. Too bad the communication/organization of the company seems so poor.

Home Genius Exteriors did a fabulous job repairing the leaky sunroom roof on our home. The job came with challenges. It’s a low-slope roof, and the original skylights were installed with the long side at the top, instead of the standard short side. They installed roofing materials appropriate for a low-slope roof. Then they removed the existing skylights, made modifications to the framing, and installed larger skylights that completely covered the framing and opening. The job was completed in one day. The real test came that night when powerful storms came through with heavy rain and hail. The sunroom came through just fine, and the room is bone dry!

Called for an estimate after a wind storm had pulled down half the siding over my garage. Was able to get an estimate very quickly however when I met the guy out for the estimate first question asked was if I was replacing all the siding. I told him I was primarily only interested in replacing the area that had come down. His response was hey I am not trying to waste time but we really don't do jobs under $5,000. I said well don't even bother even giving an estimate then. It was very rude and off putting. Clearly if you need a small job don't waste your time calling this company.

Home Genuis phone agents are extremely poor listeners. I have quite a large document of materials and specifics for what I want done for 3 different big projects. I asked the scheduler if I could email it to them before inspection to save everyone time. But it was like talking to a wall. He said I could email it to the tech on the day of inspection but he would absolutely not give me an email address to send it to. (It seems they desperately want to get you into that "in person" high pressure sales situation that other reviewers mention here.) A different person called me to confirm the appointment and I again asked if I could email my project list... the caller said no, to give it to the tech when they show up. I tried explaining I'm not reading the email to the tech nor am I going to print it out. I wanted to email it to him to confirm they are interested in my projects BEFORE coming to my home so nobody's time is wasted. She didn't care. They called yet again (a 3rd person) today to tell me the person doing the inspection will be 45 minutes late. I AGAIN asked to email my list to the tech since this was now the point the scheduler said I could do it... but it was literally like talking to another wall, incapable of going off her script. She actually sounded and paused like an AI. She still pushed for "telling" the tech when he arrives. Since she absolutely refused to listen to what I was saying and insisted on arguing, I just hung up. If there's already communication issues this severe, in the very beginning stage of the process, I can't imagine the final project would be what I asked for. If they can't accommodate the simplest request for an email address, how could they possibly handle an issue that arises during construction? Hire local, stay away from this type of company.
