I called Mr Sparky after one company I called never showed up, and another company came out and quoted $700 more than what Mr Sparky charged . Vincent was very personable, knowledgeable, and great to work with. He listened to what I wanted and explained everything thoroughly for me. He ran a new electric line to the breaker box for an outdoor outlet for me in my carport. Him and his co-worker arrived on time and completed the job in a timely manner. I will definitely call Mr Sparky again for future work.

Kenny Haley was able to come out for this emergency same day service that I needed him for. I Was freaking out because my kitchen completely lost power while we weren't home, had someone out before that had completely mess everything up and Kenny saved the day and even quoted me correctly for what I was actually needing!

So there are no doubts this is a real review, service date 11.3.25, tech V. H, arrived 4:11 p left 4:23p cost $147. Tripped breaker. Homeowner disabled (blind, legally).
Only two pros, came out when stated and wore shoe covers.
After I stated two outlets in bedroom does work and all but one in living room. Explained all light switches work.
Con of visit:
Immediately Launched into cost of $352 for scope diagnostic then if more work to be done $809 due to coming back with a tech. And tried to have me sign repeating if it’s cheaper cost will adjust. I said can you just check the breaker first and recommend from there? Again I’m visually impaired and the breaker felt ok to me. He said simply yes it’ll be done. He checked two outlets to confirm not working in the living room. We went to the basement to the breaker. Said this may be the issue saying it was not all the way to the middle. Said I bet this fixed it. Checked the outlet in the living room and the one in bedroom. Adjusted the cost from $352 to $147…NOT the service charge of $59 instead for work done. (I will explain this later).
Majority of visit was centered around him explaining why he needed to charge for all sorts of services when he first stepped into my home.
Later I called a different company because I do want a full diagnostic and correction/upgrade due to my home being over 100 yrs old. I told this other company the rationale behind wanting thiss done. They then said, “he charged you that instead of just the service fee?” I said “unfortunately yes. I thought that would be the case, but wasn’t sure.” They expressed concern but I knew the Mister Sparky tech V.H. was just looking to pad this trip and nothing else.
I did not want Mister Sparky to do the full diagnostic service based on this interaction. I made a mental note I want this done but DEFINITELY NOT WITH MISTER SPARKY!
Never will I contact Mister Sparky again, already told family not to and to spread the word of my situation. I even said “if someone asks who’d you recommend,” say “I know who you should stay away from.” And gave permission to share my story.
Response to company:
If a company has to call you after a negative review to explain their fees stating perhaps the tech was not clear…red flag. I was not confused about anything. I did d not wish to speak to K. Just to defend your pricing. More than likely so you can write this response. My review is to state my experience with your company that was dissatisfactory. Besides the fact V.H. Didn’t explain the fee, he launched into next steps before doing initial evaluation. I’ve worked with general contractors, roofers, and plumbers who’ve never launched into costs BEFORE assessment and required signature on the spot before doing anything. Probably why I still work amicably with them now as my dedicated handyman, plumber, and roofer (roofer have done my new gutters, flashing repairs, and I am using them for chimney replacement, I love my roofers!).
Backing up your business practices and techs, great for you. Mister Sparky is not for me. This just taught me a valuable lesson. Have a great day.
