He was very professional and went completely over the system. He made the needed adjustments and made several great suggestions to make the system work more effectively. We decided to get on a maintenance plan and upgrade our system a bit. We were extremely pleased with our technician and the professional way the company handles itself.

I have to say that if ever I have a major project, I’m gonna always call Kobella’s. First, they replaced the exhaust piping from our furnace to the outside. Second, they installed a bathroom sink, changed out a shower cartridge valve, and put in new hot and cold water valves on my basement utility sink. Lastly (this time), they installed a new water heater and changed out some of the waterline valves near the heater that had corroded over time.They are not the cheapest by any stretch. However, if you want the work to be done correctly the first time and to last, I would recommend calling Kobella’s.

He worked quickly and efficiently and was able to replace the old pipes quickly and easily and the result was a pipe with fewer twists and turns. He was polite and courteous and even took time to befriend my cat. Afterwards, he cleaned up thoroughly.

On December 17th of 2025, I called and scheduled Kobella in Chardon to come out and investigate an issue with my hot water heater. This ended up being a bad wire for which I was charged $152. The technician, "Chris M," then proceeded to upsell my wife on a drip he noticed from the pressure tank. He installed a tank tee, pressure switch, drain valve, pressure gauge, and relief valve. I have shopped around and added up the parts, which total less than $150. He quoted my wife $600 to repair it, then proceeded to charge her $1000 once he was done. After fixing the water heater, he worked for 3 hours. One of those hours was spent running for parts. Even if the parts cost $200 (which they don't) $400 an hour in labor is criminal. I have pictures of the work, parts, and invoice, which I will be posting elsewhere on the internet. I am a business executive of a large manufacturing company with its own service team. I understand costs, profitability, ethical business practice, and what taking advantage of customers looks like. Based on this and previous complaints (below), Kobella in Chardon, Ohio, makes a practice of taking advantage of those who lack the technical expertise to know better.
