- JLJonna LinkeJan 20, 20265.0If I could give it ten stars, I would. Joel at NextGen Mechanical, what a wonderful, kind human being Joel is. Very very knowledgeable in his craft, too. He saved me thousands and thousands of dollars. My issue was my heat pump was running constantly. He came out as a second opinion after another well liked company, who will remain nameless, came out and told me all this crap that needed done. Supposedly no freon, all these leaks, said they nitrogen teste, need new coils, etc. To the tune of thousands of dollars and a wait time of 3 weeks to 3 months to have new coils made, in negative degree temps. I wanted a second opinion and called Joel. He came out the next day and spent hours -- literally hours, testing everything and found almost nothing. No leaks at the four places they said were leaking. One very minor leak at a stem that was easily repaired. First company said no freon, Joel said it had plenty of freon. Might be down a pound or two but it was hard to tell in such cold conditions. He went over everything he did step by step, explained what it should be, what the readings were, etc. We turned the unit back on and ran it a few days. He came back a second day and re-did the tests to make sure all were still reading correctly and they were. Do we know why the outdoor unit kicked off and stayed off? No, not yet. Could be a faulty sensor or whatever. We have to wait until it warms up to do more testing and see if it happens again. Just a wonderfully knowledgeable young man who believes in doing the right thing and not killing the little people. I cannot recommend him enough.

He called me back and came to my home after hours on a Friday to diagnose and rectify the issue. Very respectful, knowledgeable, passionate and professional man who really cares about the work he does and does it very well!! I will be calling him again if I have any other HVAC/R problems because he got straight to the point of the problem, explained it, repaired it and didn't try to overcharge me unlike a lot of these other HVAC/R companies try to do!!
