A few summers ago, we had our leaky deck-style roof replaced by Haralson Roofing. The job was quite complex and entailed replacing a good portion of our actual wood deck ceiling while they were up there. In other words, it was not a mere "rip off and replace shingles" sort of half-day style gig. As far as we were concerned, the actual deck replacement part was more important, while the shingles was a secondary matter. Haralson Roofing did a masterful job, and we do not have any issues with our new roof. Although 'not having issues' may sound like a low bar, I must note that, historically, the roof has leaked badly ever since we moved into the home in the mid-80s (i.e., despite having new roofs installed along the way). This is the first time that the interior of the home has had a chance to begin recovering from decades of rain damage.
Again, it's been a few years now since Haralson Roofing replaced our roof, and I certainly could have written a more contemporaneous review. But I actually find it more meaningful to give this 5-star review after we have had a chance to fully "wait and see." I can say with maximum confidence now that our roof was installed by Haralson Roofing in a highly skilled and built-to-last way. While they were working, I distinctly remember that crew was relatively small, and the leaders at the time told me that having a small crew was vital so that they could supervise that the work was done correctly. We really appreciated that. Also, I must make a special mention about Mr. Haralson himself. He is a humble, classy, and intelligent gentleman and clearly a family man. He seems like a quiet and soft-spoken person, and he listens carefully and is empathetic. He understood precisely what our family was asking for, and he totally stood out to us from all of the previous estimators that we had rejected. Essentially, we needed a roofer to listen to us while wearing an engineering hat, not a cheap-skylight-salesman hat. Overall, I highly recommend Haralson Roofing if you want to get the job done skillfully the first time and without BS. Moreover, this is an established Akron-based family business, not just some random company that has popped up in the area to cash in on the wind-damaged roofs.
Several indicators suggest a roof may need replacement, including missing or damaged shingles, visible leaks, cracks in the roofing material, sagging areas, or extensive deterioration due to age. For a comprehensive evaluation, it's advisable to schedule a professional roofing inspection.
What type of roofing material is best for my home?
