  Two weeks ago, we were told by an energy-efficiency technician that our gas boiler had a carbon monoxide leak — a frightening possibility. The company that had done a tune-and-clean just 40 days prior refused to come back, telling us to call 911 and a chimney company. Four chimney companies couldn’t verify an obstruction and several plumbers kept rescheduling us in favor of larger installations. After a full week we still had no help. Finding Hartmann & Esposito changed everything. From the first call, Krystle made us feel like a priority, exactly what you need when dealing with a potential safety issue. Jonathan arrived within 48 hours, after a long day of emergency calls, yet was calm, patient, and thoroughly professional. He confirmed pricing upfront (so appreciated), tested and retested the system. The CO wasn't detectable on the first visit so he came back, which was incredibly conscientious. He found the reason for the CO on his second visit, and was able to troubleshoot why it was happening. He reviewed the options with us and made sure we understand how to stay safe until we decide on how to fix our system. He really went above and beyond in every way. Their responsiveness, honesty, professionalism, integrity and the trust they inspired were far superior to anything we experienced with the other companies. We will be using Hartmann & Esposito for anything to do with our natural gas system. They truly know their stuff and provided exceptional service when we needed it most and we won’t be calling anyone else.

  Outstanding service from a true professional! Johnny did an absolutely fantastic job diagnosing and fixing our new heating system on Shelter Island. He quickly identified why it wasn’t working properly and repaired it so efficiently that it felt like magic – now it’s running brilliantly! His experience really showed throughout the entire process. He was punctual, arriving exactly on time, and his professionalism was top-notch. On top of his technical expertise, Johnny was also incredibly friendly and pleasant to work with. Highly recommend. It’s rare to find someone who combines skill, reliability, and such a personable approach.

  This company came in to replace the 3 way valve on my boiler. A week after completing the job, my boiler started leaking so i had them come in to repair, assuming that the cost would be covered due to the timing of this new issue.. They claimed that the issue was not related to the first job they completed, all though i had never had a leak in the pipes of my boiler and the leak started a week after they completed the first job, and they charged me a diagnostic fee. It was only $100 however, i felt the work should've been guaranteed. I called to dispute the charge, they said a manager would call me back shortly and i never heard back from them. Not very professional and don't seem to respect the relationships with their customers. Bad business, wouldn't use again.

  I cannot begin to say enough about this company! My central air died on a hot day. I called them early morning and they came right away. The system was very old and needed to be replaced. I fully expected the usual… we have to order the unit and wait then schedule an install. Well I was wrong…. They said they could have it installed the same day! REALLY SAME DAY!!!! The crew led by Phil was incredible and they were neat and careful with everything. They left everything immaculate. The system is much better than my old unit. On top of all this the price was very fair. It is rare to get this kind of service from a contractor these days. Hartmann’s exceeded my expectations in every way.

  This company did it! The problem with my 10 year old gas burner was intermittent, evading detection for near two years; despite all the professional repair eyes upon it. Thousands in repairs! Still the burner kept shutting down. Finally, someone recommended this company. It took a couple of tries, but they knew what I’d been through and were understanding and exceedingly fair about pricing. The owner Rob himself came several times to oversee repairs. Jay was here several times; having the same technician each time helped the troubleshooting process. Thank you Rob & Jay! If you’re having a problem and you want it fixed, this is a company with high standards , loads of integrity and quality service. …AND true 24 /7 availability.
