To be honest, I was very suspicious when I saw all the 5 star reviews but now, I 100% understand why. My husband and I are do-it yourselfers and we have even dabbled in some light electrical work ourselves. We can hook up a new outlet, install new electrical fixtures, run a basic line etc. however, late one Sunday night, our main power line went out. My husband works from home and I am 7 months pregnant, so doing any work ourselves right now or shopping around was out of the question.
The team arrived promptly the following morning and provided us with a quote. It was steep, but as we have an older home that was not necessarily "to code" when we bought it, it was worth it. Initially, we were told that it may be approximately a full week before everything could be fixed for us, not because of the Lon Lockwood team, but because of delays in communication/paperwork on the end of RG&E. So, in the meantime, the team provided us with a battery pack that could help us run our sub pump in the meantime, as our basement had flooded due to the loss of power.
Fortunately, it turns out that things were going in our favor and the work was going to be able to be done on Wednesday. The team arrived promptly and set to work quickly. They were kind, efficient, and even provided my husband and I with an incredibly sweet gift of onesies, pacifiers, diapers, and baby wash, for our upcoming newborn.
Unfortunately, RG&E, doing what they do best, arrived incredibly late even after specifically telling the team that they would be arriving shortly. Whomever the team contracted to do excavation even stayed behind for an additional 4 hours in hopes that RG&E would return soon, simply out of the goodness of their heart (as it is RG&E's responsibility to backfill, not the excavators) but RG&E did not return until 7 hours later.
When RG&E did finally arrive, they refused to backfill a hole that exposed their live wires, despite the fact that this is within their job description, not the Lockwood team. We also had a minor issue involving our Greenlight line that resulted in the line being run, but not being able to be buried yet. This unfortunately resulted in an accidental severing of the Greenlight line causing further issues for us. That being said, the Lockwood team said that they would not only take care of the backfill, but also would help us with the Greenlight issue.
The Lockwood team also helped us resolve various, and strange, electrical issues that have existed in our home that, while not necessarily dangerous or out of compliance, were an annoyance (such as rewiring our garage line onto a separate circuit that now runs directly into our garage and not up around the outside of the house and fixing some random outlets that had weak outputs).
While we still ended up paying a pretty penny, I do think that for everything the Lockwood team did for us, it was well worth it. I feel safe and comfortable with their work, and I am beyond pleased with their kindness, flexibility, and hardwork. We could not be more pleased! Thank you to the entire team!
